I find this mask to be very flimsy and have difficulty keeping it in place during sleep. I find it an excellent mask for lying in bed while watching
tv.

Mirage FX isn't bad. I got one as a freebie from my DME in return for testing the thing for a couple of weeks and writing a review. Of the nasal masks I've tried, I like this one the best.

I switched to the Mirage FX a few months ago; I think it's great! I like that it is very low profile and has a minimal footprint, and I find it very comfortable to wear. I had no problems with getting a good seal and have never had a problem with leaks.

Good luck with it, I don't think you will be disappointed.

I found the Mirage Micro too stiff, rocking on my cheekbones.
How does the Fx compare?

I tried the Resmed Micro and Activa first, but both of these annoyed me as they moved in and out a bit (like bellows) as I inhaled/exhaled.
I then tried the Mirage Softgel which I have used successfully for more than a year, although it was a bit "heavy" on my face.
Recently I tried the Mirage FX nasal mask -- this was just introduced in mid-2011 -- and I like it even better than the Mirage Softgel, as it is similar but MUCH smaller and lighter -- the best nasal mask I have found so far.
Good luck.
Jason

The Mirage FX is pretty comfortable. The cushion inflates to hold the mask nicely off the face and is nice and soft on the nose bridge.

The Mirage Micro is the opposite - digs into the nose bridge and face. I only lasted 2 hours with it and had red furrows dug into my face on both sides of my nose. The Micro is a torture device.

I've tried several nasal pillows type masks and all the nasal and full face masks. The Respironics Optilife with a cradle cushion has worked pretty well for 18 months. But recently my pulmonary doctor suggested I try the Mirage FX because of some leakage due to bumping the Optilife in my sleep.

I'm happy to report that after a one week trial the Mirage FX works perfectly in every respect. There's no way that any other mask could be better for me.

I initially had the Mirage Micro and returned it after 3 days, it just irritated my skin and dug into my nose bridge. The FX has been great for me, I love that the bridge area is all soft and can't dig in and there is no 'pad' to leave a mark on my forehead. My only complaint is that it it seals so well with minimal pressure that I am apt to leave it so loose it leaks easily when I turn to the side... watch that tension.
