Lightweight cpap power
Best thing I have found for camping is the
Puritan Bennett Battery Pack.It is made specifically for CPAP and worksperfectly with Respironics machines. You can see it at https://www.cpap.com/productpage/89

I go weekend car camping with a tent when I can predict the 2 days in the summer that it doesn't rain around here.
I use either a PB 420e or a Remstar/Pro machine that each can run directly at 12 volts with the manufacturer's adapter. I run at a pretty low pressure (8) and I easily get 2 nights from a Xantrex Powerpack 400:

...which cost me around 100 bucks and weighs about 20 lbs. I also have a deep discharge (sealed, AGM) 90 Amp/Hour battery that could probably get me through a week and weighs about a jillion pounds.

LOST POWER!!
I lost power two nights ago. It was out for several hours. I have the REMstar Pro 2 C-Flex CPAP. I'm trying to put together an alternative power source but need to find out what the power draw is. I have the pressure set to 13 (As high as it goes). I wake up to a 100 times a night w/o this thing. I could have slept in my minivan and plugged in the 12 volt adapter but I was afraid I'd kill the battery. I was looking at a power source from Gadget Universe that SEEMED to meet the need but would like info. It is at,

I saw that it was the same price as the Xantrex 400 Power Station. Anyone?

Have more than one? Absolutely! I have the cheapo cpap from the DME, the good apap I bought and use every night, and the old cheap apap I bought second-hand as a back-up. Also have a gasoline generator in the basement for power-outages. Will not be without an apap. However, don't know if the generator will sustain the heated humidifier. Haven't had to try that yet...you know if you have a generator the power won't go out.
If you folks with machines would look on the back at the little label that gives electrical info, I might be able to help figure out how long these batteries might last (in theory). The label should say something like 0.6A or 4.0A, where the A stands for amps. Tell me your machine and the A value. I would guess the humidifier also takes juice, so maybe it has an A value too? I'm still waiting for my prescription, no machines yet.
I bought the XPower Powerpack 400 Plus
I got it via Amazon.com for $99.00. At least I'm ready for the usual FL power outages.
Thanks for the very helpful advice on backup power!
