SleepyHead 0.9.2 for Mac OS X

Post by Breathe Jimbo » Thu Jan 12, 2012 8:33 pm

A new 0.9.2 binary stub only is available. Still beta. To update 0.9.0 or 0.9.1, please click on the Help menu, then click on Check for Updates.

After SleepyHead applies the update and restarts, you can check the version by clicking on the SleepyHead menu, then clicking on About SleepyHead. It should say 0.9.2-1 (or later).

If you have problems, you may need to delete your SleepyHeadData folder. Please note that this is not the same as the SleepApp folder, which is no longer used.

It appears that the automatic updater will work with only a statically-linked version of SleepyHead installed from a full DMG package obtained from SourceForge. You need not concern yourself with this unless you are building SleepyHead from the source code and, as a result, running a dynamically-linked version.

Please report back whether or not you are able to install the 0.9.2 update using the Check for Updates function in SleepyHead.

Jimbo,

Thank you for this wonderful software! I just tried it on my first two weeks ever on any XPAP, and will report that in a separate post.

But to answer your question below, when I opened my OSX version 0.9.1 which I d/l'd yesterday unaware of 0.9.2, I followed your instructions below and was unable to update to your new version.

Growl reported: "There was an error parsing the XML update file"

Best wishes, Nate

When I "check for updates" on my 0.9.0, nothing happens at all.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I didn't have any problem updating.
I'm using a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard.

You can try deleting 0.9.0 and the SleepyHeadData folder, downloading the full 0.9.1 DMG file, and running the full 0.9.1 package installer. Next, click on Help and then Check for Updates. You will need to create a fresh profile and reimport your data.

Does this work?

Mac with the 10.7.2. Updated properly and works fine. I have two folders in documents SleepApp & SleepyheadData. Did I understand correctly that I don't need the sleepApp folder anymore?

I deleted 0.9.0 and installed 0.9.1.

Now, I am unable to download data, as this move causes SleepHead to unexpectedly quit.

Also, "checking for updates" still results in no action...

Any help is greatly appreciated, as I see my SD this week and I'm hoping to bring some graphs with me.

0.9.x does not use or need the SleepApp folder.

I located the "Diagnostic Reports" folder and it is empty.

I love the program, even though I'm just beginning to understand it, so I'm hoping that this can be resolved.

Thanks for all the help!

In preferences I set an "import location". Now, when attempting to import , a status bar flows across the bottom indicating import in progress (this was not present previously).

But, near the end of the progress bar, SleepyHead again unexpectedly quits.
The only message I get after this is the option to "send the report" to Apple or not.

The library/logs/diagnostic report folder is still empty...

I just received my new S9 Auto on Thursday and found the ResScan software to read it which worked OK. I then stumbled across a reference to SleepyHead and downloaded that - very nice! I had it on this morning and was notified there was a upgrade trial to fix minor bugs. I tried to update twice but it failed both times, I will have to try the suggestions listed earlier to see if I can upgrade the software. Thanks for a great product!
