Travel CPAP?

For those of you who have a "travel-size" CPAP, is it that much smaller than a normal one, such as the S9?

Also, somewhat related, does insurance usually allow you to get another machine at some point? Or would I be on my own if I eventually wanted a separate travel machine?

I can travel with it, I just was wondering if there was something better. When I travel, I'm gone 3-4 nights in a row in different cities every night. It's also somewhat bulky for some of the nightstands. Just wondering if a travel-sized machine would be better, or not worth it.

I travel with my S8 device without the humidifier.

...as my carry-on or otherwise travel bag for the equipment and odds 'n ends.

When seeking out a bag I took everything I would be carrying in it with me to
a high-end photography store with a good selection of bags, narrowed the choice
down to a coupla bags and then did a test fit with each.

I doubt insurance will pay for a 2nd machine but you should still ask them
anyway... who knows they might be an exception to the general rule.

A backup machine is good to have and can double as a travel machine.

The 420G is the size of VHS video cassettes stacked on top of each other. It is the lightest CPAP on the market. Best of all, it is built to last and backed by a year manufacturer warranty which means that although it is a travel CPAP, you can plan on this small man lasting as long as any other CPAP on the market. It is a great machine.

Compared to all my old machines, the S9 is travel-sized...

If I were getting a dedicated travel unit, I would suggest something that could be run easily on DC power,
like devilbiss intellipap auto. The price is right for travel or back-up.

I've travelled several times with my S9 minus the humidifier. I put extra hoses, extension cord etc. in the humidifier space so nothing's left to chance where I'm staying.

I've traveled with both my S9 and Intellipap. No enormous difference, though its more hassle to deal with the "brick" power supply and plug the humidifier into the blower unit, etc. with the S9. With the Intellipap just take it out, plug it in and you're ready to go. If both units were sitting on the table looking at me, I'd grab the Intellipap just because it's more convenient and cheaper to replace if something happened to it.

I have traveled many times with my S9 and humdifier. Not a problem for me. Everything but the distilled water packs away nicely in the travel bag. My husband and I just took a cruise with our S9s and all we needed was an extension cord provided by the cruise line. It was a breeze.
