Surgery: Anesthesia, someone cuts away delicate parts of your body, recovery pain, healing time. Possible permanent problems afterwards. Low success rate.

Is a miracle cure for some. An irreversible big mistake for others.

CPAP: Cumbersome. Invasive. May be difficult to adjust to. Requires proper setup to do it right. Lifetime effort for the patient. If used by the patient, has the highest success rate. Side effects are mostly minor. Reversible at any time.

If CPAP doesn't work for you, you can pursue other treatment.

sickwithapnea, you don't seem to have good luck with medical procedures. Do you want to risk it? However, if you REALLY need deviated septum and tonsillectomy anyway, that's probably worthwhile.

I am having major problems with asthma/infections. I heard that septum surgery/tonsil surgery can improve breathing and I hope mental functioning.
I have problems getting enough sleep on bipap but restoril helps. thanks!

Hey Sickwithapnea17,

You have mentioned that you have Central Sleep Apnea. The surgery's that you mention usully are to deal with obstructions from tissue. As Centrals are usully not created by Obstructions I would be doubtful that these surgerys would provide any sort of postive outcome. It's much more likly they will only increase the problems and issues that you are struggling with right now.
