GoodKnight 420G innards

Post by mathman » Tue Dec 27, 2011 12:13 am

Short version: I have a goodknight 420G which won't start up. I have nothing to lose by opening it . Any ideas how?

For about 5 years I had a goodknight 420s . It died and I was due for a new one so got an APAP. But I figured I'd try for a replacement of the 420s for travel/backup. The 420 series was already discontinued but the factory sent me a 420G, not as good but good enough. Before my last trip I tried the machine but it would not start. I figure that I may as well open it and check the fuse etc. I can see 4 deeply recessed screws, anybody know what driver would fit and what to look for inside?

Alternately, anyone want to buy a dead goodknight 420g?

Hi Mathman ! I have a perfectly good 420s which I have owned since 2005. The LCD screeen cracked on one of my travels and as a result, one cannot read anything, however the machine works perfectly. I was informed by Tyco that the 420 series has been discontinued. I was also quoted for the repair almost what I paid for the machine originally.....what a joke !, so I bought as new Fisher Paykel Icon Auto instead.
