Numbers Questions

Post by guffy2 » Mon Dec 26, 2011 3:03 pm

Hi folks.
Have a appointment with the sleep Dr. in two weeks . It will be the first time I have seen him since June when he ordered the sleep study.I believed I was doing very well, but since I have found this forum and trying to learn more, I am starting to think my numbers could be better,
these are what I can get from my machine.
CPAP Pressure -- 13
Cflex - 3
AH1 - 7 Days - 8.7
30-Days-7.6
Perodic Breathing

Last 7 Days- 10%
30 Days- 9%

I think I could possibibly achive better results with a automatic machine and be able to watch
my numbers more closly.
Would my Dr need to write a Rx. for a upgrade on the machine and is it possible for Insurance to pay for it , I'm on Medicare with a supplement . If not do you think it would be worth it to
bite the bullet and just pay for one.
Sorry to be so long, and Thanks in advance,
Bob

You can get a lot more information than is displayed on the machine. Search the forum for SleepyHead, which is a software designed by one of the members that you can download and use to read the data on the SD card in your machine.

Thanks, but there is no SD card in the machine, I called my DME and ask about a card after I took the machine back for them to remove the Monitor , and they said that I needed a Rx to get one. so I thought I would wait until I saw the Dr.
Thanks for the reply

You don't need a script for an SD card. Just use a standard SD card, 1 or 2GB. If there isn't one in the machine just purchase one and use it. You may be able to get the summary data that is stored in your machine and going forward you will be able to see your detailed data.

We need to add this one to the list of "Whoppers my DME told me"

As others have said, the card is just a standard 1 gig SD card. The higher quality and larger SDHC cards won't work however.
