Does anyone else experience this?
When I first start the machine, I feel resistance when I exhale. After a few breaths, it seems that the resistance is totally gone. I have only been using cpap for about a month, and it didn't seem to feel like this in the beginning. Am I just getting used to it now? I am using the Remstar Auto, cflex at 2, pressure 6-10cm.
I just want to be sure that the machine is working properly. I know it is pumping because when I open my mouth air escapes. I'm going to put together a manometer so I can properly test it.
Anyone know how to calibrate the Remstar Auto?
Bob
Sometimes feels like there is no pressure
Bob:
Interesting you say that. After 3 weeks when I Step my CPAP down to 5.5 it almost feels like an effort to breath in.
I think I'm getting used to the pressure - at least with my Nasal mask. With the Swift - that's a different story.

Tom

Don't worry everthing is fine, you guys are just getting used to the pressure. At 10 cm I hardly feel the pressure anymore. Your lungs become accustomed to the pressure, which really isn't that much anyway. Unless you have some sort of breathing problem most people adjust quickly.
It's funny, this morning when I first woke up I couldn't tell if I was wearing a mask at all. The Aura (Headrest) is so comfortable, and after over 6 months on cpap I could not feel any pressure at all. Remarkable really how we can adjust. The only thing that still bothers me is machine noise. Not that it's noisy, but I've noticed that change in temperature and hose position effect the sound, which does bother me from time to time.
Congrats, you are adjusting well.
Cheers,
BP
