Which machines do you use and would recommend?

Post by gatsby » Wed Dec 14, 2011 11:39 am

Hey guys,

I have 2 questions:

1)What machines do you guys use?

2) Would you buy it again if you had to start all over again?

Currently using a Devilbiss Intellipap auto. I would have no issues recommending it and in fact have done so many times

That said.... I am looking at *possibly* replacing it with an S9 auto when the warranty runs out. Might not though. Might just get another Intellipap auto. It's a good machine.

1. S9 Elite - straight CPAP
2. Probably - don't have experience with any other machines, however next time I would get an Autoset.

Cheers,
xena

My husband and I use the S9 Autoset. We have an Intellipap Auto for backup. Both are good machines, but the S9 is in a different league. It is smooth in transitions of increasing pressure and inhale/exhale, a little quieter, no problems with rain out, we have climate line hoses, the amount of data available on the screen surpasses the Intellipap and the ResScan software link is available here thru members. The Intellipap software is a separate purchase.

Sheesh, a lot of ResMed folks out there. My DME pushed Respironics and I was started on a PR S1 apap. It's a good machine with full data and an easy to service humidifier.

Now that I'm on BiPap, I wouldn't go back to the same machine...but I would go with a Respironics S1 Bipap. They make a good product.

I have a Respironics S1 AutoIQ with C-Flex.

I like the Respironics machines, but I wish I had the full auto. Like the slide in slide out humidifier chamber.

(a) Respironics PR System One. S9 was not yet released when I bought my machine.

(b) Yes, has worked very well for me. However, assuming it lasts I'll probably wait for the next generation of machines before I buy again.

I did have a firmware problem that kept shutting the machine down about a year ago. However they replaced it quickly and no problems since. If you were buying second hand, I'd make sure the firmware was at least version 2.01. The screen displays the version number when you first turn the power on.
