intellpap auto AHI update

Post by HPM » Tue Dec 13, 2011 8:54 am

I have been trying to get the right setting for my intellipap auto - For the last couple of nights, I set the smart flex at 1 instead of 2. My range is set at 9 -12 (titrated pressure is 10). I'm now getting AHI's of 2, which is an improvement. Before, I was never able to get that low and I feel better. My pressure has been staying at 9 - 9.5. I understand that the smart flex drops the pressure by 1, 2 or 3 during exhale. It didn't seem uncomfortable at 1. Before, with setting at 2, my pressure was often hitting 11.5 and 12 for small percentage of time. I'm also not having the unsettling dreams that I had with range of 6 -12, just regular dreams. I know there's been another discussion about intellipap AHI so thought I'd share my experience. (I just have the smart code).

Sounds like you are getting good therapy now... an AHI of 2 is great! Glad the dreams have calmed down and, hopefully, in another week or so, you will be feeling much better and more rested. Keep up the good work! Sometimes a tight pressure range is all that is needed. I also started out at 6-10 and now sit at 7.5-10.5 and that small change made all the difference in the world.
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.
