Reporting fewer hours than expected

Post by tomzzz » Mon Dec 12, 2011 9:52 am

I've been using my DeVilbiss DV54 Auto-Adjust CPAP for over two months now. Doing okay so far, but something odd seems to be happening over the last few days.

I wake up in the morning, 6-7 hours after going to sleep. My mask is on fine, air is pushing through it, I feel decently rested. But when I look at 'My breathing hours last day' in the Quick Menu, or doing a SmartCode report, it shows me at roughly half the number of hours I would expect.

In fact the last two nights read exactly 2.7 hrs, when I know I got 6 last night, and over 7 the night before. My previous experience with the device was if I thought I got 7, it would report around 6. I chalk that up to time lost falling asleep, or mid-morning bathroom interruptions. So I've mostly believed it. I'm now concerned it might be misreporting hours. The other stats seem to align with my expectations.

Has anyone seen their CPAP do something like this? Thanks for any wisdom.

I had a machine that reported no hours one time, but luckily the internal clock showed the hours used. We never did figure it out. Is it possible that you are forgetting to turn the machine back on after a BR break?

Hah. If it were left to me, it'd be entirely possible. But this unit auto-starts when you inhale/exhale. Also one of those nights I slept straight through for 6 hrs and it reported 2.7.

Thx for the response in any case. I'll keep plugging away at it and see how it goes over the rest of the week.

Have you tried the usual fix for anything computer related that we don't understand? Reboot?
Won't hurt to try. Unplug it and then plug it back in, see what shows tomorrow.

DOH [slaps head]

Just before going to bed last night, I tried pulling the power plug and plugged it back in. This morning 6.0 hrs!

Great suggestion. Thanks!
