Gosh, I sort of expected to hear some details about your surgery as I'm always interested in hearing a surgical success story.

septoplasty,turbinate reduction and tongue coblation Easy surgery. I thought it was going to be a real messy surgery. Breathing after surgery. No longer use splints or heavy packing. Great consdering I stress over my surgies of any kind. Almost weeks post op.
Dr. is in Boynton Bch, FL My brother did same surgery months ago. Now we are cpap free.

Without a followup Sleep Study, success can't be confirmed, In a year or two other sleep studies will be needed to see if sleep apnea returns or at the least a recording pulse ox. Jim

That's great terio2. I hope you will be OSA and cpap free for the rest of your life but I would hold on to your machine. If your insurance is like mine it will only help pay for a cpap every 5 years. I would wait until you are due a new cpap and see if you are still OSA free. If you are, sell it!

I had UPPP, T&A, and 4 different endoscopic sinusectomies as well as septoplasty and turbinectomies, and I breathed better for about 6 months only, then had to eventually come back to the Hosehead Club. I think you should both (you & your brother) hang on to your machines, like another member suggested. Congratulations on your successful surgery, enjoy it as long as your improved breathing lasts.

I thought about holding on to my Resmed S9,etc. Will pass the info to my brother as he has been done with cpap by 6 months as all he tried it. Many mask and press changes. His septum was worse but he had less apnea's than me go figure. I am a 5ft2in low wt. Jaw is narrow though. Going to ask about a sleep study on my post op this month. He is a director of a sleep study facility you would think he would suggest it. Did any of you do the tongue coblation that is like an insurance of not having apnea's.
