I really don't think this is funny. It appears that this guy is getting set to try his CPAP for the first time and should be getting support from his family....instead they are laughing at him. It's very likely he will not be successful with his treatment.

I dont think it is HIS Cpap, If you notice, the Cpap machine is owned by his mother, I think what happens is the the SON is TRYING OUT her machine, I think what happened was that since the family was bored in the cabin, the Son tried to perk everyone up by volunteering to try out his mom's machine..

Humor can have value in adapting to therapy;
but this looks like the worst kind of family intervention;
and is not likely to help with CPAP's public image.

Everyone seems to be having a good time in this video, even the possible CPAP user.

This does bug me sometimes when a spouse (or other should be supporter) is in the room making Darth Vader comments, or SCUBA comments in the lab during a titration night CPAP introduction and the patient is clearly on the fence about whether or not they're going to give CPAP a try.

Can I go off topic on the off topic? I just watched "Hall Pass", possibly the worst movie ever made. There is a scene early on when the wives are complaining about their husbands and Christina Applegate's character makes fun of her husband because of his CPAP usage.

The comments are basically: He looks like an idiot using it, and he couldn't be less attractive because of it. Then there is a scene later with him strewn out on his bed with a FFM on and wheezing loudly.

I'm all for using humor to bring awareness to sleep apnea (or other diseases), but I was offended because it wasn't even funny. I know humor is subjective, but I think everyone would agree this is just potentially harmful.

I think less of anyone who watches "Hall Pass." Yes....I think less of myself for taking 45 minutes to turn it off.

I'm all for humor in most situations, but I don't see the humor in this.... I guess you had to be there.

Mom could have made it funny by farting into the intake of the machine.

That guy looks so stupid, man! I love humor but this has ZERO HUMOR, RIEN, NADA ! I wonder if the mother get on wheelchair the moron and the whole family are going to make a joke with it? Sorry .

Personally, I'm feed up of all those jokes about sick people, the elderly or the ones with disabilities or other serious problems. Those jokes are one of the reasons why the world in general has become so careless with the suffering of others. Can we be surprised to see kids bullying other kids at school when adults act in all kind of mean ways and then trivialize it?

If they had to have something to entertain themselves, at least they didn't try guns. Maybe it would have been more entertaining if they had chose guns, basically a waste of time on their part and mine. Jim

Not funny, just a waste.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say hilarious... but it made me smile a bit. I didn't see it as very negative. Some people like to joke around more than others, and it seemed like mom thought it was funny too. Not like they were having a malicious laugh at her expense. The thing that made this so amusing to me was all the breathless giggling going on in the background. I think someone must have been hitting the pipe. I hope they had some good snacks around.

Well, Maybe I shouldn't have posted this video for you all to see, Personally I found nothing that would have insulted us CPAP users, I just found the highly contageous giggiling from all that were involved amusing, and I thought You all wanted to hear the giggling also, with that being said, I apologize to you all for showing you this, I meant no harm in sharing you the video.

Just a note, In my opinion, anyone who has any kind of disease or handicap, and can laugh and joke at HIM or HERSELF about it, I truly admire them, their handicap is not stopping them from living life good, That is how our heavenly father wants us to be, happy and greatful for the gift of life he has given to each one of us.

I agree. Looked to me like the mom (who was the real cpap user) was having a good time and getting a laugh out of having her son give it a try. I thought it was mildly amusing home video.

I didn't have nearly as much fun watching it as the family was having in it. What did entertain me was how much they were enjoying themselves. I have a saying that I know my grandkids get tired of hearing. When they are horse playing and someone doesn't want to be a part of that play, I remind them that it's only fun if everybody is having fun. My gut reaction to this video is that everyone is having fun, so I took no offense. But, I laughed at my own limb movements and most others weren't comfortable with that, so I may not be a good judge of appropriateness.
