Senseawake on F&P icon series REVIEW

Post by nichola » Fri Nov 18, 2011 3:42 am

SO I havent been using CPAP for too long.... but I wanted to put forth a bit of a review on the icon series as well as and in perticular the senseawake feature.

I have to say I am quite impressed with this machine overall. The one feature I am missing from the resperonics machine is the auto switch on which means i dont have to press a button then roll over and put the mask on. the resperonics recognisses i have the mask on and just starts up.

That being said it is a VERY small price to pay for a machine which is quieter, seems to feel like less pressure, has been less leaky for my mask and has the senseawake , all of which have resulted in be sleeping through the night every night since i have used it.

The senseawake feature basically drops the pressure a little if it feels you waking up then ramps it back up again as you drift back into sleepiness. This feature seems to also reduce leaks for me.

I am finding myself more refereshed in the morning as a result and with less apneas (as my apneas tended to happen as i fall asleep more often than not with the machine).

I wish you could however set the senseawake feature a bit to not drop the pressure below X pressure though

Thanks for the review. It sounds like a nice machine. I'm glad it's working well for you, even with a few things you would like to change.
