FYI: Mailing Tip for Newbie Pillow Traders

Post by twokatmew » Wed Nov 16, 2011 2:32 pm

The USPS charges extra postage to mail items more than 1/4-inch in thickness. Thus it costs $1.71 to mail one pillow via first class mail within the US. (I simply apply four first-class stamps to avoid a trip to the post office.) For more info, you can calculate postage here:

http://postcalc.usps.gov/

If you do not apply sufficient postage when you mail a pillow, it gets delivered "postage due" or sometimes even requires a trip to the post office to retrieve the package and pay the extra postage.
