Yes. In fact I think the ResMed machines do that...sort of a cool down period after mask is off. I know the S8 machines used to do it. Continue to run for a period of time (don't remember how long but 30 minutes comes to mind) specifically to dry things out. People used to question all the time why their S8 machines would continue to blow after they had turned it off...thought there was something wrong with it so some even would pull the plug.
I haven't seen this mentioned about the S9 machines though. Perhaps people understand it better or heck, maybe it doesn't do it any more. Perhaps a S9 machine user could confirm this feature.
Yes, the S9 has the cool down cycle and a warm up cycle too. I find that if I use the warm up at night and cool down in the morning, I rarely have any moisture in tubing.
Now I have this picture in my head of Pugsy throwing around her tubing like a lasso!

Hi Everyone thank you all for your genuine feedback.
I did speak to few CPAP users and noticed that most of them suffer from throat and nasal infection and this is what I meant by INFECTIONS in my previous post. The machine we are suggesting uses some kind of technology where you don't have to clean your CPAPs with water. Just plugging in into the machine will sanitize it.
Again, this new machine will only clean the mask and hose.

Why plug into the machine when it will only clean the mask and hose? That sounds dumb.
Also, if a cpap user has throat and nasal infections, there is something else going on, not hose and mask cleanliness issues.
This idea seems gimicky to me.

Not sure which 'few CPAP users' you spoke with, but I rarely see posts here where 'most of them' suffer from throat and nasal infections. How would XPAP increase these issues when the air is cleaner than the stuff breathed without XPAP??

I have serious allergy problems, but these don't exist when I'm sleeping and I haven't had a throat or nasal infection in about 8 years - long before I was Dx'd with OSA.

Smell of gimmick to me - although I do like the idea of a mini-blower to dry tubing. I have spares to use while waiting a couple or three days for the washed one to dry, but don't like just leaving it hanging around to dry and worry about the tubing picking up cooking smells etc.

Cheers,
xena

I have the S9 Resmed with climateline heated tubing. It does continue to blow for a while (30 min? I haven't timed it) after I turn it off in the morning, after which I disconnect the tubing and hang it over a towel rack until night. I am new to the world of cpaps, so this is the only machine I have tried, but have not experienced any moisture left in the tubing. I believe the heated tubing helps with this... but have nothing to compare it to..

Yep that's is what I did.. Maybe 3 times in 2 1/2 years. I told you I was a lazy sort. I am also still using the second hose I bought in July of 2009 which was a white Performance hose to replace the standard gray hose which came with the M series machine back then. I have another Performance hose still sealed. Just haven't seen the need to use it. Every once in a while I will remove the hose and look inside for anything that shouldn't be there but it is always spotless so I don't do anything else. So I am rather lax about it all. Works for me. I have had only 2 colds since I started cpap and both of those my husband brought home. Now if I had a compromised immune system or other health issues..then I would probably not be so lax with my cleaning regiment.

So OP here coming up with some snazzy device to clean things would be completely useless for me. I have zero need or want for anything else. The few seconds I spend washing the nasal pillows and short hose each week simply is not that much of an annoyance to warrant spending more money on something I don't feel the need for.

My new Hybernite heated hose came today though.. For once I wish it were really cold tonight so it would get a good workout.. But it is going to be quite warm for this time of year.

No they don't. The only study done relates this to a dirty humidifier.

And what about the drool that ends up in full face masks , as well as the interesting slime on the nasal pillows sometimes? It needs water to rinse it off.

I have a Germ Guardian--old model.
It just sanitizes the air, no filtering.
It does improve the smell of room air.
I could stick it in a box with my stuff--for free.

Sounds like snake oil to me.

Let me guess, it's an ionizer or ozone generator, right?

I have an automated CPAP cleaner machine. I connected it to the plumbing in my kitchen. It also cleans dishes when I'm not using it on the CPAP parts.

My dishwasher has a "NSF sanitize" setting that isn't necessarily up to medical equipment standards, but it seems to do a pretty good job on my masks and water tank.
