hi we are from Bangalore, India. my mother needs a c pap machine. she was using one last year which we had taken on rent
i was looking at Zzz-PAP 'Silent Traveler' CPAP Machine ( https://www.cpap.com/cpap-machine/proba ... chine.html )
wondering if anyone else is using this machine as their primary machine? does it last or is it a short term travel solution?
trying to understand how one costs $200 and others costs 5x that.
thank you

Zzz-PAP 'Silent Traveler' CPAP - long lasting solution?
Re: Zzz-PAP 'Silent Traveler' CPAP - long lasting solution?
My first concern would be what are her pressure at?
My CPAP pressure is 20 and most CPAP machines go to 20, but this one only goes to 18... so if she needs a higher temp this would be a big issue
Secondly.. this machine gives no data information. Thus any therapy you mother would be getting would be 'blind' .... you wouldnt be able to tell if it is working or whether it needs adjusting.
Thirdly this machine is MUCH louder than equivilant machines
I would only get this machine if
a) your mother needed a pressure lower than 18
and
b) you have no other choice money wise
If you have a bit more money to spend
I would buy this
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/devilb ... chine.html
While double the price it is significantly lower than other machines with similar capabilities. You mother or her doctor will be able to monitor her therapy with it.
If I was trying to still get somethign inexpensive but even better than the above
Id go with this:
https://www.cpap.com/cpap-machine/devil ... tflex.html
This machine is auto adjusting.. which makes it easier if your mother's weight or other things change which means they need to re assess her for another pressure. It also has more options like a feature which makes it easier to breathe out.

Welcome to the forum, tushar.
Your mother's poetry is beautiful. Thanks for the links.
I hope she's able to get a machine that will suit her well.

Re: Zzz-PAP 'Silent Traveler' CPAP - long lasting solution?
thanks for your replies. i will research this more. not sure what pressure she needs i thought all c pap machines do that automatically. the one she was using last did. i guess i need to read more and ask the doc more questions
Re: Zzz-PAP 'Silent Traveler' CPAP - long lasting solution?
APAP machines can do it automatically, and the folks who make the Traveler do have an APAP model.
I use the Zzz-PAP Traveler for travel, it works really well, but is VERY basic. It pushes air at a single, set level and that's all. Good when I'm on the road and do not wish to track my sleep data, but not what I would suggest when getting data and information is the primary goal.
