Products in CPAP Store that you would like too see.

Post by CPAPselecta » Wed Nov 09, 2011 7:24 pm

Hi Guys

Now i have been running my store for about a year now and we have hit christmas time and it occured to me what "other" products would make it easier for my CPAP customers to purchase at my store. We have had some examples such as nasal sprays for the congested user maybe even a type of product that cleans CPAP humidifiers and masks or maybe even a Pillow designed for mask usage.

What i do sell are the basics mainly Masks,CPAP and VPAP machines , Filters and Spare parts for masks. but we want to expand on our items.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated and thank you for your input.

From one CPAP user to another many thanks.
CPAPSelecta.

Hi

What about these products - and look at the different categories -

http://www.the-pillow.com.au/

and these products -

http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/soft-ce ... ollar.html

and also these -

http://www.clinicalguard.com/digit-puls ... 4godCTZy1Q

You could even hire out an oximeter overnight to those who wanted to check themselves (or a loved one) with regard to oxygen desaturation.

Then you would become an outlet that helps people with obstructive sleep apnea, and a leader in your field

cheers

Unsinkable arm and leg floaties, to keep Sleep Apnea patients from drowning in De-Nile. They even could be useful for the ones stuck in the low water and mud at the sides. There should be lots of protential for sales, due to the large numbers and their resistance to getting on with their lives and treatment. Seeing the need, cost shouldn't be a factor. Jim

My CPAP store has nothing but XPAP - no other DME. When I'm in there picking up my regular supplies of filters, pillows etc., I like to walk around and look at all the 'gadgets' that would perhaps make my sleep better, more comfortable - or just a plain luxury item. I introduced Padacheek products to my DME and can't wait to see them on the shelves!

If patients have insurance - there are items you will know are going to 'sell', but it's the 'luxury' items that keep me in the store longer. Often I have to wait for other customers to be looked after, so there's time to look at the pillows, hose covers, wipes etc.

One other thing I notice is that partners often accompany XPAP users into the store, so with Christmas approaching... the comfort items might find their way into stockings.

I showed DH the new 'skins' for my CPAP machine - totally frivolous, but hey! I like things to look nice - and I think he tucked the info away to give Santa

Cheers,
xena

I like this idea as well. You could extend it to renting out Zeo devices.

How about nipple cream to help people with chaffing.

Perhaps you could consider holding xPAP classes. Teach some of the newbies the tips and tricks you have learned here and elsewhere.

You could sell those products as well: nipple cream, KY jelly, Astroglide, tape (for your mouth), ... of course, you might have to explain how KY jelly relates to xPAP.

My favorite luxury item was the padacheek strap cover for my Swift LT. It is really comfortable.

Don't know if you sell Resprionics PAPs or not. But if you do, how about the Encore Viewer software? Likewise any other software that a manufacturer is willing to sell to patients/customers.

I second the idea on CPAP classes. Providing space for a local, live CPAP support group to meet on a regular basis would also be a nice touch.

On the "luxury" and "comfort" items, one that hasn't been mentioned yet are hose hanging systems. It would be useful to folks considering on of these systems to actually see one of them set up so they could look at it and touch it and see just how it works. Approved CPAP-batteries for those who want to camp with a CPAP is another idea that's worth considering.

Won't help Apnea, Sleep Apnea is treated by increasing pressure in the airway, a chamber adds pressure to the airway and the external body, so no opening of the airway, no gain. Jim

A iron lung varies pressure so it acts like breathing.

Hose cosy, various colors; hose adapter fittings. The fittings that let the hose rotate and the ones you put in the end of the hose that make a right angle are really nice for keeping the hose from splitting from being attached and detached and the right angle one is really nice for relieving strain so the hose can run right over from the nightstand to the bed. Some of use prefer to snuggle our hose rather than hang it.

Tape.

Seriously, you might want to consider carrying the sleepzone.com.au "heated cpap tube."

That's something I've used for about seven years. Love it. Bought two directly from sleepzone.com.au

The only online store in the U.S. I've seen that standalone heated hose offered at is:

ResMed S9 VPAP Auto (ASV)
Humidifier: Integrated + Climate Control hose
Mask: Aeiomed Headrest (deconstructed, with homemade straps

What about an inline anti-asphyxia valve for tapers, one that would go between the hose and the mask. This would be a simple, cheap safety valve, that pops open if the power and pressure go off.

--CPAP nightstands--at least a universal open shelf design to organize and support the necessities.
--a less pricey hose dryer--for heaven's sake!
--a compact, low volume distiller for travel
--a CPAP case on wheels for those who need a cart
--a wedge that isn't just a squishy, narrow chunk of foam.

Probably not a big market for iron lungs.
