Can I get some FFM recommendations for people with rounder faces? I'm kind of in an "in-between" size and roundness and I think I'm going to switch my DME because I'm reading my card from my CPAP and some nights I'm having AHIs as high as 22+ and most of my AHIs are close to 10 but they are so staggered sometimes that I KNOW it's the mask But I can't use a nasal mask because I feel claustrophobic without being able to breathe through my mouth with the mask and I've used the Hybrid (which I love) and my current Mirage which I also love. And I LOVE the air blowing directly up my nose!! So going to a FFM may be a bit of a struggle initially but I know I'll be good with having both nose and mouth covered. I'm hoping the new DME will be more receptive with trying masks and have a better selection than my current DME does (one of each type!!) but I'd like to go in with having an idea of what I'm looking at/for.
Thanks

Re: Full Face Mask recommendations for rounder faces?
You say you love the Hybrid and you show you have the Liberty. Both are full face masks. Are you having issues with either of these masks? If your leaks are under control and the mask is comfortable something else may be wrong. Do you sleep on your side? On your back?
Everyone is different and no one can pick a mask for you. What works for one won't work at all for another. Even if you think your face looks the same as someone elses, you may need different masks(gravity, sleep positions, etc).
So check your leaks with a mask you love like the hybrid and report back!

Try the Nasal Airel11 it is a nasal prong mask,I two love the air up my nose and the mask is relatively cheap but buy the one with all sizes and try it out.No mask marks no clausterphobia and easy to clean. My mask of choice for the last 2 1/2 years.
Re: Full Face Mask recommendations for rounder faces?
You might want to try the F&P FlexiFit 432. I have been thru four different full face masks and this in the most comfortable, lowest leakage and easiest to maintain. Good luck!
Re: Full Face Mask recommendations for rounder faces?
I start out on my back although I used to be a side sleeper only (I think that's because I *knew* I couldn't breathe on my back since I was little - have always been a side sleeper) but prefer my side. And I'm not asking for someone to tell me what mask I need to get, just asking what people felt worked best for them.bdp522 wrote:You say you love the Hybrid and you show you have the Liberty. My biggest problem with the Liberty is messing with the nasal pillows (sorry for delay of answering - been off the computer for a bit - health reasons). Sometimes I have to tape them into place so they don't A) leak, and B) pop out. I'm a restless sleeper and my mask tends to get moved around. I probably should just invest in one of those CPAP pillows for people who sleep on their sides.
I love my Liberty AND my Hybrid (though I'm *stuck* with the Liberty because my DME doesn't deal in anything but one company - Resmed.) I was just considering the regular full face mask because then you don't have to monkey with getting the pillows in place just right.
But thanks for the response, Brenda - preciate it!

Re: Full Face Mask recommendations for rounder faces?
My problem with that is I DO get claustrophobia if I DON'T have a full face mask (yeah, I know, I'm bass ackward ) I loved my Comfort Gel nasal mask but was having problems with it so somehow I ended up with the Hybrid. Fell in love with it. Then tore the oral interface and my DME doesn't deal in replacement parts (I really need to see about a different DME I think) so I went back to my nasal mask. I thought I was going to suffocate!! Even tho I have a chin strap (I tend to drop my jaw when sleeping) I have no back teeth due to GERD so I end up with a mouth so dry it's ridiculous (It also "whistles" which wakes me up). So the chin strap alone isn't enough. So I gotta have a full mask.headbored wrote:Try the Nasal Airel11 it is a nasal prong mask,I two love the air up my nose and the mask is relatively cheap but buy the one with all sizes and try it out.No mask marks no clausterphobia and easy to clean. My mask of choice for the last 2 1/2 years.
One of the big things I'm not liking about the Liberty, tho, are the clips for the straps. At some point in time last night, my clip came undone so I spent the whole night with my mask half off. Not enough to sound the alarm but enough to dry me out. And they (all companies really) need to come up with headgear that comes in different sizes too. My head is small and the headgear is too big - I have to overlap some stuff and trim off edges and angle the velcro in directions it's not supposed to go (but isn't off enough to cause any leakage). That'd be nice too!
Thanks for the suggestion
