Aussie heated hose - my 2¢

Post by cvansant » Sun Feb 26, 2006 9:40 pm

I found the Sleepzone, and the Fischers, to be "one of the good guys". (Kinda like Johnny and CPAP.com)

1. When they recieved my on-line order, Don emailed me wanting to check and verify that I had ordered the correct set-up for my system.
2. I replied and asked if they could make the sensor tube a little longer due to my hookup arrangement. Not a problem Done.
3. Followed that up with a question about lowering the temperature. (Although I live upland where it's several degrees cooler and more humid than the coast, it's still tropical Hawaii.) Don responded almost immediately with his answer.

Excellent service and the heated tube does work as advertised!

My modification: Rather than use the inline hookup for power (12VDC), I wanted to drop the voltage/temperature by using a 9VDC wall-wart. It works for me.

The new heated hose has an elbow hose adapter included which is nice.

However, my question about putting a snuggle hose over the heated hose was not answered.

Yoga, I put a snuggle hose over the material of the heated hose. Works fine. Just make sure you put a "baggie" or something over the end of the hose so it slides thru easier.

I still get a little rainout, but not nearly as bad as before.

I, too, have a snuggle hose over my heated hose. I didn't think to use a baggie, but I got it on eventually.

I also use an extra layer over the thin covering of the aussie hose to further reduce rainout in the damp and always cool Northwest.

I wrapped a 6 foot long narrow piece of thick fleece around mine and hand-sewed the long seam. Works great...

I also use a 9VDC supply from an old DLINK router, works just fine.

Aussie hose is excellent.

Mark me down as a snuggle hose cover (gray robots) over Aussie hose person. I used a baggie but it still took about 10 minutes to wriggle it on. I've also got PadACheek covers (blue stars) over the exposed hose section of my Breeze.
