Update on Auto On/Auto Off Issue

Post by Cat Lady » Wed Oct 19, 2011 7:50 am

This is a follow up to my posting yesterday about not getting the auto on feature to start. I tried it again now and just have to blow REAL hard and it will begin after about 3 tries. I have to blow as hard as if I'm blowing my nose and I kind of don't like that idea (blowing "stuff" in the nasal pillows?) so I will just push the button as I've been doing I guess. Also I use the extra small pillows, not small as I said before.

Yes, that Auto Start feature can be a little finicky, sometimes it starts with just one or two good breaths and sometimes you really have to breathe hard about 4x to get it started. It is probably easier to just push the button.

I have mixed feelings about the auto on feature (at least on the S9). I have to give two good puffs into my facemask to get it to kick on, EXCEPT when I don't want it to kick on (adjusting the mask before turning it on).

Try an inhale rather then an exhale...

My machine starts first inhale.
Just a thought,

I get all setup and just press the button.

On my PRS1 machine, if I put on the mask and breathe a few breaths, it always comes on. I even tried to breathe slow and shallowly to not turn it on and can't do it slowly enough to keep it from turning on.

Maybe your nasal pillows don't seat without pressure and the air is leaking around them.

I just has my first ever problem with this on my PRS1 last night. It turns out the lid to the humidifier wasn't all the way down.

Other than that, I've never had an issues with the auto on feature.
