Encore Pro "valid date range" help please

Post by strobotach » Sun Feb 26, 2006 9:44 am

I'm sure I've read about this before here, but I can't seem to
get a good forum search result...

Same patient name, but now I can not access all data at once.
"must enter valid date range"

Is there any way to be able to access all data again, or have I
shot myself in the foot?

I thought all I did was erase card data. Is that where I screwed up?

MyEncore accesses the entire date range, but Encore Pro
now treats the data as two separate items...

In order to view all data in Encore Pro what should I do or not do, to maintain the complete date range?

Thanks to those that take the time to answer confused newbies like myself. THANK YOU!! .....John

In encore Pro, when you download the card, all you will get is 6 or 7 days of complete information plus compliance (use) data.

If you erase the card it will start over clean. If you do not erase the card, it will continue to record data for full data 6 or 7 days, by adding a day at a time, and removing the first day. plus it will continue to keep complance with the rest of the card memory.

In encore Pro, you can only see the data download one download at a time. In MyEncore, it sees the data in the data base for the dates you have it set to read. That is why MyEncore was created, to make it easier to see long term trends.

"must enter valid date range" applies only to the download dates you are viewing not the whole database. So it you don't want to see your whole downrange, you can set it to just see the days in that download that you want to see.

John I am new at using MyEncore and Encore Pro, used for about 1 week so far, so I may be wrong but here is my understanding. Encore Pro the way I see it is not designed to combine multiple dates of downloading information since it is only designed for use by DMEs and doctors for snapshots of data. Each time you download data into Encore Pro it is stored separately. It looks to me like you do get the results you want in MyEncore with data over extended dates. With my first download of information I had a weeks worth of data stored in Encore Pro then I downloaded data each day for the next three days. I too was unable to combine data downloads in Encore Pro but had no problem in My Encore. So if you want to see data combined that you have downloaded on separate dates you will need to use MyEncore.

If you "don't erase" the card, then Encore Pro will store "full details" for 6 or 7 days of data -- even if you download every day just to see how you're doing.

If you check your data daily, that's fine. Then when you download the full week's data at the end of the week, you can delete the single daily downloads (just be sure you have the full week before you delete the single days).

To "don't erase" follow these steps:

There's a program/file in C:\Program Files\Respironics\Encore Pro\Utilities called "Don't erase data after download.reg". Do a double-click on it and it will come up with a confirmation box.....click "Yes" and that should keep your card from being automatically erased, but you will still have to tell the program not to erase the card after you download the data (when it prompts you). Or, it at least gives you the option of erasing it or not."

If you wish, you can erase the card after you have downloaded the full week's data, so you can start clean the next day.

If I understand correctly, as long as I download the card data at least once a week, Encore Pro will append the data to the range of dates since last card erase?

If I never erase the card, but download at least once a week,
will Encore Pro average out all the days, or is their a limit on the number of days that it will average out?

Thanks... John
