Please help!

Post by WalkingZombie » Fri Oct 14, 2011 9:04 am

I was reading the other day on here a list of things to ask my insurer before dealing with the DME and meant to bookmark it, but I forgot. Now I'm ready to call and can't find it. Where is it at??

I can't seem to use the Search here effectively but if you look for a post by Janknitz and check her sig she has a couple of links to just the type of thing you are looking for I am sure.

Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

One thing I would want to know for sure is how does your insurance handle the rental or purchase of the machine.
Is it a capped rental? If so for how long? January is just around the corner and the annual deductible may rear its ugly head at that time depended on if there is a capped rental does the time frame extend into January?

Is it a flat purchase at the time of delivery?

If insurance is either Medicare or pays like Medicare then the deductibles will be due again along with any co pays and could seriously impact your out of pocket costs because Medicare does a 13 month capped rental. Some insurance companies do 3 months and some do 6 months.

Find out for sure how your insurance company pays for a cpap machine and will the annual deductible coming in January be your responsibility again.
