Happy day today ! Join my happy dance !!!!

Post by LittleRedTruck » Wed Oct 12, 2011 9:19 am

Not really a informative post, but so happy, I wanted to share with you. July 20, I received a Resmed S9 Vpap Asv machine. Im on Medicare and in order to receive machine, I had to sign off paying $728 a month for 13 months if Medicare refused to cover. I really could never afford that. This morning I checked my Medicare claims and their it was. A Medicare covered expense ! My portion will be $70, which I can afford. Ive been concerned about this for almost 3 months ! So please join me in a happy dance today !!!!

I'm doing the "Sosh" and the "Stroll" around the house as I dust the floors.

Congratulations!

I'll try the Cha Cha as I take the clean laundry to our rooms to be put away. And the Texas Two Step out to the mailbox.

I just thought I should post my experience in case it helps someone else. My first dme (Lincare) would not approve ASV for me. From what I understand, the dme does not get actual approval from Medicare but rather they run it through their in-house approval system. Lincare's in-house staff questioned my diagnosis, questioned the sleep study and wanted a copy of the sleep study so that they could do their own in-house scoring of the study itself. That really irritated me. I believe that diagnosis and rx should be up to my doctor.

My doctor sent me to a new dme and the new dme promptly ordered the machine and Medicare has been paying monthly - the dme bills around $765 I think. I can't recall what the a teal reimbursement is. My supplemental picks up the rest.

Thanks my friends for sharing my good news with me. No folks know better the trials we go through both medically and financially than those who visit here. I knew you would understand ! Plus, you folks were so cute doing the dance ! Bright Choice, thanks for asking ! Im just doing amazing on this machine ! Last nite I slept 7.3 hours, AHI 0.0 and leak rate 4L. This machine is saving my life ! No headaches, no daytime naps, no mood swings, no depression. So much energy ! I seldom download data because really nothing to look at. The results are boring ! I really hope its working as well for you !!!!

Sounds like a classic case of the DME simply not wanting to accept what Medicare would pay for the machine to me.

Anybody know if any of the medicare supplements only do business with these churls?
If so, we all need their names.

LRT, that is such good news about how well you are doing!! Me too, 0 ahi and I hardly bother to look at data. I have settled in to the Mirage nasal FX and I love it. Usually zero leaks. That plus a chin strap. I maybe awaken once and sleep 8-9 hours, feeling great too. Congrats!
