Are you new to cpap therapy? Your profile shows a machine that has been discontinued for several years.
Take a look at the link to my machine in my profile and see if yours visually looks like mine and then look at the link in your profile.
If you are new to therapy you probably have a PR System One Remstar.....machine of some model.
If it says Remstar Plus with CFlex+ it only offers compliance hours of usage to satisfy insurance requirements.
Just got hooked up on 8/17. My machine looks like the one you've got, but the manual and the machine are labeled "REMstar Auto A-Flex." I didn't find that on the list, so I chose the closest one.
So, if it looks like a duck, it's a PR System One REMstar Auto CPAP Machine with A-Flex?
Thanks for your help.

I've been on therapy for a month now and about as compliant as I can be (fell asleep on the sofa a couple of times) and I am feeling better. I won't say 20 year old better but I can get through the day, even a long day without dieing. I have started to clean out rooms that haven't seen the light of day for a long, long time. I went out last Saturday night, I haven't done that in years...I couldn't. I finished a painting that I have been working on for a while and took a part time position at work.
I'm still tired, overweight, diabetic and have a long way to go. But, I am feeling better than I have in years. I am so glad that they figured out what is wrong with me and I'm so happy that I took to therapy and didn't have a hard time adjusting. I know a few of my friends who just won't use the c-pap and I try and talk them into just keep trying.
And, on a personal note, it's good to be a sports fan in Detroit about now.

Look a little closer in the equipment list....in the PR System One Remstar section....it is there..... I chose it.
Do you have the clinician/provider manual? If not send me a private message with your private email address and I will send it to you as pdf attachment.
You have several choices on software. Let me know if you need help with the software.

I think so. Two weeks isn't enough time considering you may have a huge "sleep debt" to repay. Some folks turn around immediately, others may take much longer. The fact that you already feel better in the morning is a huge step forward.

We really need to get them to change how that's listed. None of the new users figure out "PR System...." when looking for their machines. There's nothing on the machine that says "PR" or "System one" for that matter.

Yeah...but they find the PR System One Humidfier sometimes and the machine is listed right there with it.
I am not sure if they spelled it out Phillips Respironics...if people still wouldn't get confused. I wish Respironics or Phillips if that is what they wished to be called would lose the Remstar thing too.

I'm glad I found this thread (and site for that matter). I have been on CPAP for 5 nights now. I have discovered....
1) My morning headaches are gone
2) I can sleep from 6 to 8 hours continuously now
3) My snoring is gone so my wife can also sleep continuously now
4) My "lungs" feel sore which your forum has taught me is normal early on as they adjust to pushing back on the air pressure
5) My mid back (spine) is sore which your forum has taught me is normal because I haven't slept on my back in years and now I do. (My chiropractor is in charge of helping with this one)
6) I am still yawning and slipping into sleep while sitting on sofa or as passenger in the car on long rides which your site has taught me seems to be normal as I recover after years of what I would call sleep deprivation.
I am ecstatic at the minor improvements and so encouraged by your stories and helpfulness.
Thank you all and thank you to whomever was sitting around and thinking..."I wonder if blowing air into a person's mouth/nose while they slept would stop them from snoring and help them get a good night's sleep?" Simply genius.

yeah I am still tired after months on bipap. I think I am only preventing damage to my heart and brain and not improving. I noticed though yesterday that there may have been a lot of leaks so I tightened the straps which helped.
I also have to use oxygen to feel better so I'm worried I'm going to be on this for life.

I have been on CPAP for 2 weeks. My ComfortGel FF mask is destroying my nose (despite trying every helpful hint on this board). If I loosen it, my nose still hurts and it just leaks (more). I wake up several times a night and was feeling (physically) tired the next day - although I did feel much more alert mentally.
So - I called my provider and scheduled an appointment to look at other masks next week. I decided to skip the CPAP Friday night to give my nose a break. I slept through the night (as far as I recall) and woke up feeling great. Then I noticed, as the day continued, I started to experience the "brain fog' that drove me to see a Dr. in the first place. I sat down at my desk to read an article and got through 2 pages and could barely keep my eyes open. By late afternoon, I had to lie down as I felt so out of it by that point. It seems the lack of CPAP (and therefore uninterrupted sleep) may have left me feeling physically OK, but my brain was out to lunch.
I look forward to getting the right mask and sticking with the therapy to keep enjoying the benefits of mental sharpness CPAP seems to provide. Others on the board have noted that the CPAP nightly experience does improve with time, so that gives me a lot of optimism to stick with it.
