Is it alright to nap without your cpap?
You do what you want.
For me, IT"S STUPID! I wake up with double vision, Brain Fog, my brain isn't connected to my body,.... I feel like crap. It takes an hour for my O2 levels and brain function to stabalize............but I did that for so long, I didn't know how debilitating it was.
But you know, maybe you need to go ahead and try it. You have only been at this a week so maybe the difference won't be noticeable. Maybe it will and you will understand why we wear our masks.
Let us know how it works out for you... over time.

I'm guilty. I've only been on CPAP for a couple of months now, but I just use it at night. Before using CPAP, I was taking 2 to 3 hour "naps" every afternoon. Now I'd say a half hour at the most, and not nearly as often. I don't intend to take a nap, I just sometimes fade out while watching TV. I don't feel bad afterwards, and my wife says I rarely snore when it does happen.

I guess I'm one of the oddballs. I nap almost every day in the recliner without the CPAP and feel quite fine. In fact, it refreshes me enough to keep me going until 11, 12, or 1, even. My naps go from 15 min to an hour, mostly depending on how much sleep I got the night before.

Some people can sleep sitting up without apneas, for me it made no difference when I dozed off in ER my SPO2 dropped to 79 immediately.

Same for me, a 1/2 hour nap boosts my energy, of course it could be the adrenalin from the apneas...

Even if you feel OK afterwards, if you're having apneas, you could be doing damage to your brain and other organs from hypoxia.

Of course, being strangled for 15 minutes to an hour each day is better than being strangled 8 hours every night.

I CAN'T sleep without it.
The headache is no improvement at all.

Same for me as Samba & Idamtnboy. A little refreshing nap in the recliner and good to go until 1 am. I think sitting slightly inclined decreases the apnea stuff for me.

I try not to. That's not to say I don't find that I drift off and take a nap anyway. But the headache that comes when I don't use my ASV machine when I take a nap helps discourage me from doing that too often. However, if you are sitting upright in a recliner, then your airway may be more open than if you were on your bed. So, it might not be too bad. I just ask myself ... did I end up with a headache from that nap? If so, then I should use my xPAP device next time.

Sometimes I don't mean to nap I just wake up and what ever I'm watching is over or to far gone that I've lost the plot. I don't even remember going to sleep.

I used to have headaches about 2 or 3 times a week. I don't know if it's the CPAP at night, or some of the meds I started taking about 1 or 2 years ago, but I almost never have a headache now. If I do it's usually from caffeine deprivation from drinking decaf coffee in the morning instead of regular coffee.

I nap twice daily without the CPAP about 3/4 hour in the A.M. and same time in the P.M. During the night I sleep two hours without the CPAP out of 7 hours sleep. Usually from 3 A.M. to 5 A. M. It feels GOOD.

No wonder you are so screwed up Avi. Use your bloody cpap all night every night and maybe your brains will start working again.
