The S8 machines use a "Smart card" and not a SD card. The Smart card requires the Smart card reader to communicate with ResScan software. SleepyHead won't work with the Smart Cards nor the special card reader because it cannot communicate with the smart card.

SleepyHead only works on machines (like the ResMed S9 or PR System One) that use the SD card (about the size of a postage stamp) and your smart card is more like a credit card.. Entirely different format.

You can use ResScan though. In Mac computers one has to set up a Windows environment though. ResScan is Windows based software and won't work on a Mac unless you use something like Bootcamp or Paralles.

I will try that and tell .As I live in Brasil and It is hard to find CPAPS stuffs, Is there a generic (easy to find) card reader model to read Smart Card ?

perhaps check ebay or similar?

Edit: Doesn't work with SleepyHead though.. I'd love to make it.. If anyone has a binary dump of a S8's card, I'd love to see a copy of it..

Even the generic ACR 38 card reader has to be a special card reader. Not all ACR 38 card readers will work.

The original brand ResMed card readers can be found on EBay and only from sellers in Israel or China for around $100.

Unfortunately it not easy to find. Certainly it is hugely expensive. ResMed will still sell them to DMEs but DMEs don't want to get one for us because we aren't supposed to be able to use the software so "why do we need the card reader?".. Online suppliers used to stock the card readers but when the S8 was discontinued they no longer stocked the card reader for that machine.

If you want to use SleepyHead or ResScan...it might be easier to find a S9 full data machine than it is to find the card reader.

I just downloaded and installed v0.9.2-1 and attempted to import data from my PR System One C-flex. A couple of questions. First the program only shows four days of data, and I've used the cpap daily. It appears there are files for each day on the SD card.
Second, the days I have information it says "Brick no data available". Is there a way to confirm my machine is recording data. If not, does anyone have instructions on how to enable data. I went into setup ( holding down the selection wheel and ramp buttons at the same time, and didn't see anything in there.

Hi.. Unfortunately this sounds like you are another victim of the C-Flex "Plus".

This model really is a "Minus", as it doesn't record anything but compliance data.. (basically, just hours and pressure settings)

Underneath your machine should have a model number.. eg, 250P..

It might be worth having a chat to your DME/provider/supplier about upgrading the machine. :-/

If your machine is this machine...PR System One Remstar Plus CPAP with CFlex...
Look on the bottom of the machine...any model number less than DS450 doesn't gather full data...if you have a DS 250..it gathers hours of use only.

I don't know how long you have had it but you might want to see about getting a machine that offers full meaningful data. Just because a machine has a SD card doesn't mean it gathers full data. Hours of use is technically "data" just useless data.

Thanks for the info This isn't the only time this DME has pulled a fast one on me. With the info on MaskArray I began the process today of getting new equipment from another DME provider. Specifically a resmed S9 elite so hopefully I'll have some data soon to start working with. Thanks again without your help I would have never known what a piece of junk this device is.

I have downloaded SleepyHead 0.9.2 and insert a CPAP card into Sandisk SDDR-89 and nothing happens.
Macbook pro 17 Mac OSX 10.7.2.
