As of last night Penny entered a coma she was ok in the car to the hospital but when we got there things turned bad. I have been at the hospital all day with her when they let me see her but i'm not sure how this will be. Her new doctor says that she didn't have the apnea. They say it was from the medications she was taking for depression. They called it neuroleptic malignant syndrome. It sounded so bad when they explained it to me that I had to go home and look it up. I've been reading about it for a few hours and it does not sound good. It sounds like the medicines she was taking were doing a lot of harm to her. One of them was prescribed to her but some of the others she got from friends that said they would help. you probably won't hear from me for a while but thank you for trying to help. I just wish I had found the right information faster.

Truly a tragedy.

We should never forget that taking drugs not prescribed for us can be very dangerous. Especially about the interaction between different drugs.

This is especially true for anti-depressant drugs. Some of them are very bad about interacting badly with other drugs. With anti-depressant drugs, you should be extra careful about even non-prescription over the counter drugs.

Best of luck to both of you.
