No problem, here's the first thing to do when you quit:

Advanced funeral planning. When you give up CPAP, you'll probably need it.

It's on my calendar, and I plan on being there. It was so great to meet everyone on Saturday and to realize that I am not alone in the quest for great sleep.

I don't know if there is an IHOP in the area you want to have the next meeting at but they have always been friendly to the meetings my own church groups have had, at least down south of the Denver area. Just a thought.

Thanks Roger, the only IHOP I know of closed down (it was on 104th). A couple of members are looking for another location, hopefully you can make our next meeting. We had folks from the Springs and Longmont last week!

For our October meeting, we're having a voluntary 'show and tell', so you're welcome to bring your equipment if you like. (And if you don't want to, that's ok as well). We got the idea from the Atlanta group who had a great 'show and tell' at their most recent meeting.

I like the idea because we usually don't get to see other types of masks, straps, hoses, machines and accessories that others are using. Plus if you are having problems with any of your equipement, bring it and hopefully we can help you sort it out. You can also bring a sleep study or software report you have questions about.

If you are new to sleep apnea, or are living with someone with sleep apnea, a guest of the forum, or someone who is not sure if you have sleep apnea, or a sleep apnea veteran, you are all welcome. While we are asking folks to bring their equipment, it is not necessary. Our meetings are casual, friendly, and informal. Just a bunch of walking dead having a cup of coffee and sharing our war stories. What is most important is that YOU are there too.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FYI everyone, in one of our upcoming meetings we'll also having a manufacturers rep from DeVilbiss. I'll keep you up to date as to when. "DeVillbiss Marketing'' is also a member of cpaptalk.com.

Noobs or anyone else that might be considering
to join us, I, personally, do not include myself
in the class of walking dead or zombies.
I paid my dues and I am a cpap success story.

I can, however, recognize walking dead and zombies,
as it takes one to know one. But, through cpap,
I don't every plan on being counted in their
ranks every again.

Through my war stories and experience, I can help you.
I plan on having my cpap battle regalia with me.
It is specialized and finely tuned, to me.
I fear no apnea, I fear no hypopnea

So many options available.
So much comraderie and support from others that
know the pain and fatigue of OSA and know that
you too, can be a cpap success story.

I'll see you on the road.

I agree Starlette.

Carbonman, you are a great example of what we all hope to achieve with our therapy. You've gotten through the rough spots, have reached the point where you are getting the maximum benefit from your therapy, you've got a great attitude, and most important is you are taking advantage of your success by enjoying life as you bike the Rockies.

I'm looing forward to seeing you and everyone else at our meeting again.

Reminder, come join us for our next meeting Oct 22, 10 AM, location TBA. Meet some great people who go through the same struggles as you.

If you're thinking about joining us, let us know in this thread. Hope to see you there!

Sounds like y'all are off to great start! Let's hope this inspire others to organize these meetups...I love this forum and a meeting of members for local support is just incredible. We share extra masks for try-outs, people have swapped machines, I've been using a member's extra S9 AutoSet, we loan our recording oximeters -- amazing support and help. Whenever we get something new, we bring it to show to everyone, then later share if the promise was delivered...at least for the purchaser.

After a few meetings, we started sharing stories/help with the secondary/associated conditions that affect sleep quality. We found a number of us share common biochemical idiosyncrasies, so sharing our journeys helped all of us.

The equipment show & tell was hilarious...all the things we've tried and gear we use and the lab-ratting we've done all to get good sleep still makes us chuckle

Reminder: Sat Oct 22, 10 AM, come join us. Location TBA by this Monday.

You'll really enjoy meeting with other CPAPpers. It doesn't matter what stage of this you are in. If you are a spouse, family member, or a partner of someone with sleep apnea; someone who has been battling sleep apnea; someone who has been struggling with CPAP therapy; or someone who has succeeded with CPAP therapy; we not only want you there, but we need you there and we hope to see you!

It is a casual and informal get-together with others in this struggle. Come join us!

OK, as mentioned, we have our location confirmed.

Thank you to cpaptalk.com member 'Starlette' for putting in the time and legwork to find a good location that would have us with no strings attached.

Apparantly, some places required we buy a certain amount of food or make some kind of deposit, or had other rules and restrictions.

We don't want to burden anyone with the requirement of having to buy something or pay to get into a meeting. While I am sure that Perkins would love it if some of us choose to have a breakfast or coffee and pie, they did not require it. In fact, Starlette was able to secure a private room for us, so we will be out of the way of the main dining area and can have our own privacy, and plenty of room.

Remember:

LOCATION: Perkins Restaurant 8691 Sheridan Blvd

Just south of the Boulder Tpke (Hwy 36) by 88th and Sheridan Blvd

Saturday Oct 22 10AM

The Perkins is visible on the West side of Sheridan Blvd, just south of the Boulder Tpke (Hwy 36), so it is easily accessible from just about all directions.

If you plan to attend, please let us know in this thread or send me a PM so we have an idea as to how many will be there.

We look forward to seeing you there!
