Last night was my first night with my machine. I would like to say I slept well but its hard to gauge because I also had a tooth pulled yesterday afternoon.
All the pain pills kept me pretty groggy but I slept for a total of 11 hours with the mask on.
I remember waking up quite a few times with my mouth open. I think I need a chin strap. The DME said he could get me one if I needed it.
I like the nasal pillows so far. Much better than what I had on a the sleep study.
I can say I really enjoyed breathing in the heated moisturized air. I have been having trouble with dry sinuses lately.
Hopefully as I wean off the pain pills I will be able to see if the cpap works for me.
My pressure is apparently pretty low, only 6. He taught me how to use the ramp feature even though he said I probably wouldnt be able to tell the difference between 4 and 6 as it ramped up.

I'm on 6cc too, makes it much easier, and I can allow for some leakage and not have to fit the mask too tight.
Im am avoiding pain killers or sleeping pills as they are bad for APNEA I believe. If it wasnt for the chronic joint pains (back atacks at night lately), I'd be sleeping like a baby by now - a good baby of course.

I imagine sleep will be quite different without the pain pills. . . .
Good luck with this therapy. It may take some getting used to, and issues may arise. When that happens, just ask your questions here, and you will get plenty of good information and advice.
