Starting to worry about myself
I've been losing a lot of sleep from trying to encourage my husband to wear his cpap all night. Now I'm starting to worry about my own sleeping pattern. I got to bed at 10:30 sleep until around 2 when he takes his mask off then I'm up until about 4. Then I have to get back up at 5:30. I'm starting to get headaches and stay tired all day. I'm starting to think I need some sleeping pills. The good news though is that my husband went back to his nasal mask last night and wore it for a while. I woke up at 2 because I could hear he had took it off. I told him to put it back on and he did. It's 3:35 and so far he has left it on. He has never wore it past 3 before, but is it normal to still have some snoring with it on? He's snoring, but hasn't stopped breathing that I've noticed. I'm wondering though if he isn't breathing from his mouth and that's what's causing the snoring. If this is in fact what is happening is the nasal mask even helping? Thank you all so much for being here for me. I never realized how much of an affect this was going to have on my own life.

Re: Starting to worry about myself
If he is still snoring when he has the nasal mask on, He is most likely mouth breathing. If he is mouth breathing he may need a full face mask, or he can try a chinstrap, or tape his mouth shut(many of us do). Mouth breathing is a giant leak, and leaks can ruin cpap therapy. When he removes the mask does the machine shut off automatically? If he is starting the machine when he puts the mask back on, it could be he is snoring during the ramp time. I found that raising my pressure stopped the snoring. Before raising the pressure you need to be sure that the leaks(mouth breathing) are fixed.
It is wonderful that you care so much for him that you stay awake watching(and listening to) him. BUT...you need sleep too! Maybe a night or two sleeping in another room will help. Making yourself sick isn't going to help either of you. Maybe talking to him about your lack of sleep and your worries will help him see that he needs to get this all in place, for him and for you.

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/3076 Please look at this machine and see if it looks like the one you call Remstar Pro with CFlex.. If it is you have software available to see what is going on and see for sure if snores are from mouth breathing bad enough to impact therapy.
Software options explained here with examples.
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=64906&st=0&sk=t&sd= ... re+options
If this is the machine... in the equipment drop down list your profile..look for the grouping starting with PR System One Remstar..it is shown there...That is the full brand name and Pro with CFlex is the model.
Let's not guess anymore than we have to about the effectiveness of his therapy. We know he isn't getting the hours but we don't know just how bad the leaks are impacting things. Snoring might mean ineffective therapy, might mean mouth leaks which might be real bad but might also not be horrible. Let's see what is going on so you can see what needs work without guessing.
There is a much older Remstar Pro which has been discontinued well over 5 years..it is doubtful you have that one.
