Jerimiah's data:

First observation: (and a request for clarification.) This data starts at NOON on Sept. 19 where NOON represents what? Are you using Encore Viewer or Encore Pro?

Because if you are using Encore Viewer, the software is picking up the GMT offset from your computer and the NOON in the chart represents NOON local time.

But if you are using Encore PRO, the software does not automatically pick up the GMT offset from your computer. And unless you go into the preferences and chose the correct time zone, that NOON represents NOON GMT instead of NOON local time.

So if this came from Encore PRO, can you check the time zone setting please and make sure it's correct so that all your sleep shows in one basic chunk.

Second observation: Since your location is Indiana, your local time is most likely Eastern Standard Time since Indiana doesn't observe daylight time (if I recall correctly). That means that NOON GMT is equal to 7:00 AM local time. So, one of the following is true, but I can't tell which:
  • NOON on the Encore report is NOON Indiana time and you slept during the following times from NOON Sept. 19 to NOON Sept 20:
    • noon to 4:30pm (with the sleep period likely starting earlier in the morning of Sept. 19)
    • 11:00 pm to not quite 5:00 am on Sept. 20
    • 10:00 am to NOON on Sep. 20 (with the sleep period likely continuing until later in the afternoon of Sept. 20)
In this case, I'd speculate that on Sept 19, you probably woke up some time around 5:00 or 6:00 am, went (back) to bed around 10:00 AM on Sept. 19 and slept until 4:30pm; and turned in for the night around 11:00 pm. And that the cycle repeated itself on Sept. 20: You woke up around 5:00, returned to bed around 10:00am and slept until .... If this is the case, then that very long 6 1/2 hour "nap" from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm is as long (or longer) than the time you are spending in bed at night. No wonder you can't sleep at night: You've already gotten enough sleep during the day and your body is most likely not sleepy at bedtime.

    OR

NOON on the Encore report is NOON GMT = 7:00 AM Indiana Time and you slept during the following times from 7:00AM Sept. 19 to 7:00AM Sept 20:
    • 7:00 am to 11:30 am on Sept 19 (with the sleep period likely beginning before 7:00 am Indiana time)
    • 6:00 pm to almost midnight on Sept 19
    • 5:00 am to 7:00 am on Sept. 20 (with the sleep period likely ending after Sept. 20, 7:00 am Indiana time)
In this case, I'd speculate that you went to bed around 5:00 am Sept. 19 and sleep until 11:30 am on Sept 19. You had a very long almost 6 hour nap during the evening and first part of the night. And then you went back to bed around 5:00am on Sep. 20 (and probably slept until around 11:30.) If this is the case, then that very long 6 hour "nap" from 6:00pm to midnight explains why you're not sleeping through until morning: You're going to bed too early to make it through the night because you don't need 12 hours of sleep from 6pm to 6am. So you're waking up at a reasonable "bedtime" unable to sleep because you've already gotten almost a full night of sleep and your body just doesn't want/need anymore even though your mind does.

Third observation: Regardless of the time zone problem with the NOON Sept. 19 label, there are three "obvious" chunks of sleep. One of those chunks represents an overlong nap followed by an inability to get back to sleep at the time you want your bedtime to be. The obvious questions are:
  • What's triggering the overlong nap in the first place?
  • What do you do when the insomnia monster raises his ugly head?
  • What do you do during those periods where the machine is not recording any data at all?
Fourth observation: The apnea and the leaks are worst in that right hand chunk of the pressure function. And during that very last sleep period, the leak line is excellent and there are no events. But I'm willing to bet a plugged nickel that the first chunk of sleep on the detailed data for Sep. 20 shows apneas and leaks.

It may very well be picking up the gmt offset. I have my computer on GMT because I am a Ham radio operator... I'll try Encore Viewer on my Laptop and see what it does
