PR System One with CFlex issues

Post by Fogster » Tue Sep 20, 2011 1:59 pm

Hi All,

I have a PR System one with C-Flex that I got in April. About a week ago, it started making a high pitched noise on both in hale and exhale when I start it. This, for some reason, goes away during the night, because I don't recall hearing it in the morning.

Last night, I noticed that the humidifier light dimmed, but did not go completely out. I am pretty sure it was turning completely off. I had to put something over it. Has anyone else run into issues like that? I have confirmed through careful testing, that the noise is coming from inside the machine itself, where the blower is.

If you take it back to the DME, can they fix them? Or do they make you buy a new one?

I think with warranty issues they end up replacing it with an new machine..the old machine gets worked on and sold as refurbished machine to a retailer. If under warranty...no cost to you. Call your DME and ask.

The humidifier light does not turn all the way off if the humidifier is on - it just dims. If you have the humidifier off (turned to 0), then the light will go out entirely.

Ok thanks Cowly. I thought it did go all the way off, but I couldn't be sure.

If you were brand new to therapy those sounds might be normal sounds that you are just getting used to during the night. CFlex does seem to change the motor sounds ever so slightly. You might try putting the machine on a towel to act as a buffer but if these sounds are hugely louder than when you first started using the machine then I would be talking to DME about it while the machine is still under warranty (usually 2 years from the time the DME received it)
