I just got EP2.4 installed on a new Windows 7 64 bit laptop machine without any issues. I did however screw up the password thing and now am locked out. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
I found the thread regarding the "Reset Encore Password" download that "TooGroggy" posted in March. I downloaded the application file but I can't figure out from the posting what is to be entered in the three boxes.

Locked out of EP2
Re: Locked out of EP2
Mess up 3 times and it will lock you out. Did you by any chance set up another user besides EncoreAdmin?
I did it with my first install also.
I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it. Had a problem because it said I "already had Pro installed" but I had removed it.
Apparently some remnants remained. Using a cleaner program like CrapCleaner might help but I didn't think of that until I had done the custom install.
This was before TooGroggy's little fix so I didn't use it.
Instead I bypassed the "already installed" thing by doing an advanced or custom install.
Only thing I changed to make it "custom" was the SQL Server name. I changed it to SQLServer2 and it worked.
I don't know how to use TooGroggy's little tool.
If we were a doctor's office we could call Respironics and get the special code to unlock it, but we can't.

I'm not sure exactly what happened. I understood how it was supposed to work. I installed the program then changed the password as it was about to expire. I didn't enter any patient info. I changed the time, changed the password from 90 days to 0. Then closed the program but didn't realize that I tried to enter the new password three times and was thus locked out.
I uninstalled the Encore Pro 2 Client only. I left the 5 Microsoft SQL Server programs installed. I then did a custom install of just the Encore Pro 2 Client. The program installed fine but the same issue of being locked out was there.
If I was going to start from scratch would I have to uninstall the SQL Server programs as well and then try a registry cleaner or would I just use the registry cleaner after uninstalling the Encore Pro 2 Client before re-installing it?
The problem you were mentioning where you renamed the SQL Servers were those the one from the previous install?

Re: Locked out of EP2
I started completely fresh. New SQL Server thingy. I did not remove the old one though (never thought about it)
During the custom install it does the normal path prompts and when it comes to SQL Server it will allow a name change.
I didn't know if that one change would let it work or mess with the whole SQLServer but it worked.
Check your private message in a few minutes. I have a different idea.

Re: Locked out of EP2
if the program is running correctly on your machine, those boxes should be prepopulated with "(local)", "EncoreAdmin" and "None" (minus the quotes). So all you need to do is click the Ok button. That resets to password for the EncoreAdmin account to the word None on the default SQL Server instance installed on your machine.ranman wrote:I can't figure out from the posting what is to be entered in the three boxes.
