sleepweaver mask
sleepweaver mask
Just spent my first night w/ it - after a year of trying on and off and failing w/ every mask I tried, I finally was able to wear this new mask all night. I had some leak issues and hypopneas that I think are associated w/ it. But, it was super comfortable - I could sleep on my side and mush it and it still worked. My nose didn't itch or get sweaty; I didn't have any rainouts, and I could still wear my glasses over it. My pressure is very low - the range is set from 5 - 10 and it peaked at 6.5.

Re: sleepweaver mask
The Sleepweaver was my first mask.... I loved it and found it very comfortable. I did have minor leaks at the bridge of my nose, but I was able to correct that with a cushy bandaid across there. I eventually moved on to the Swift LT for Her and had stayed with it ever since, but my Sleepweaver is at the ready for a fall back mask when needed.
I am happy you have found a mask that works for you..... happy sleeping!

Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

Join the SOFT Mask club, mgrunk.. I've been sold for 2 months now and we have 2 in our household. The only issues have been (not) holding humidity as well as the rubber masks, and possibly strength of the fabric.mgrunk wrote:Just spent my first night w/ it - after a year of trying on and off and failing w/ every mask I tried, I finally was able to wear this new mask all night. Emilia, did you have any issues with the fabric straining and trying to tear when tightening the Sleepweaver? My frau is looking at trying some iron-on mending fabric to strengthen the slots where the headgear attaches to the mask. And she doesn't get as much humidity with the Sleepweaver as she prefers.. but nothing beats these SOFTies for comfort.by Emilia on Thu Sep 15, 2011 10:24 am

Re: sleepweaver mask
I am a bit worried about the durability - the stitching of the inside membrane looks strained, but I seriously cannot believe how much more comfortable it is. I felt no claustrophobia w/ it. The only other issue (I'm self pay so having to buy a $100 mask frequently is worrisome) is that it won't last long.

Re: sleepweaver mask
It is much more durable than it looks. You may be tightening it too much. I use an eye mask to keep the air from leaking into my eyes and I can wear it very loose. The inside fabric piece that touches your face was what wore out on mine. The rubbery backing wore off. It never came apart or tore any where. My pressure is about 15. It works great for me.

Re: sleepweaver mask
These things are much more durable than you might believe. Its my mask of choice and I'm currently switching between two -- one going on 6 months old and one going on 3 months old -- the six month old one is still holding up extremely well, its attachment slots are all stretched out (actually both masks are), it's headgear is getting pretty ratty looking but it still serves me well and the older one actually has less leaks than the newer one. I did have to replace the hook part of the velcro on the headgear as it was getting to the point it'd no longer grab. I really wish they'd develop some quick-connect attachments for these.

How do you clean it? How easy is it to clean? Do you think you can get it really clean?

Re: sleepweaver mask
I clean it by soaking it in the sink using a mild detergent and then hang it to dry thoroughly, basically I treat it the same way one would for any hand laundry.
It cleans very easily, and yeah, I think it cleans thoroughly, as thoroughly as any other mask I've had.
I would suspect you could also run it through the washing machine were you so inclined.

It may be hand washed with mild soap, which is what I do; or Circadiance says it may be washed in normal washing machine, but not dryer.archangle wrote:How do you clean it? How easy is it to clean? Do you think you can get it really clean?
As for really getting it clean, if I was worried about germs, I'd use H2O2 peroxide to make sure, but I haven't had any sinus infections... yet in past 2 months that I've been using this comfy cloth mask.

Re: sleepweaver mask
I had my second night - was able to wear it all night. Seriously, this is like a mini-miracle. I have 6 other masks that I've tried and failed. Thankfully, I was able to buy them all used so it's not like $600 worth of masks, but it's been so difficult.
