ResScan AHI question

Post by Perrybucsdad » Mon Sep 12, 2011 7:26 pm

Can anyone explain why the ResScan software seems to have a saw tooth pattern for the AHI chart? It seems to peak every hour and then goes down.

Notice that you have two options to show those graphs depending what you customize. Is it Events or AHI or both:

The AHI graphs looks like sawtooth b/c your sleep stages and events change during the night at a certain sequence.

Yeah, looks a bit weird. It starts a new scale every hour so it starts all over.
First hour might have X# events....second hour starts new at zero and starts counting again....3rd hour starts new at zero again. So up and down,, up and down. It is a quick reference to how many events occurred in each hour.

It is my understanding that the ResMed units calculate the AHI hourly.

At the end of each hour it gets the stats and then starts again at 0 giving you the 'sawtooth' effect.
