Interpreting Sleep Study EEG / Looking for reading material
Can anyone point me to an in-depth discussion allowing me to get a better understanding of the EEG part of the sleep study. None of the books I've read go into much depth. I'd especially like to read about it in the context of Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome (UARS). Those of use with UARS never seem to get much deep sleep as we effectively wake up many times per hour.
Bob,
Take a look at this link and see if the info you're looking for might be there.

I believe the EEG of the sleep study is only used to determine the sleeping stages at any given time during the study. One research study may be of your interesting is: http://www.chestjournal.org/cgi/content/full/115/4/1127. Click the right panel of "Full text (PDF)" to obtain the article.
