Is it best to leave my machine connected to my powersource, or disconnect the plug after nightly use?

It won't hurt anything either way. If you are prone to have power surges during the day...then unplug for safety or use a good surge protector.

I leave my machine plugged into surge protector and never turn the surge protector off.

I leave my machine plugged in during the day. We are not prone to power surges. A surge protector is still a good idea.

I leave mine plugged into surge protector. I do unplug it if I am home and we are having a bad electrical storm.

Do you unplug your computer or TV when you are not using them?

Surges that do damage typically occur once every seven years. A numbers that can vary significantly even in the same town. Even geology can affect that number.

If a protector adjacent to the CPAP does protection, then someone has posted manufacturer spec numbers that make that claim. Many assume protection exists due to no damage for six years.

Informed consumers can learn from over 100 years of well proven science. Earth one 'whole house' protector so that CPAP, computer, and TV are all protected. More responsible companies provide these including Siemens, Intermatic, Leviton, General Electric, ABB, Polyphaser, and Square D. A Cutler-Hammer solution sells in Lowes and Home Depot for less than $50. If that protector makes a short (ie 'less than 10 foot') connection to single point earth ground, then surges are not inside hunting destructively for appliances.
