Am I to understand that the ResMed s8 autoset spirit and the s8 autoset vantage are the same machines ? I just got a s8 autoset spirit and it looks very similar to the s8 vantage and not the autoset spirit one.
I can not find a s8 autoset spirit machine on the ResMed website either. Is this an old version of the vantage or a new version of the autoset spirit, and does it work with the autoscan 5.7 software.
Does anyone know this ?

Different names.
No, I'm not in the USA. I live in Norway, and I know that product names are often changed for the european market. But do you know for a fact that they are the same machine ? I'm thinking of purchasing some software and a card reader for my machine, and just wanted to be sure that my machine is supported.
Does anyone know of a firm that sells the Autoscan software online ? If I could download the software there would be no problems with customs and shipping costs.

jon,
In Australia the machine is known as the Autoset Spirit as well
The three Aust versions of the models are
Lightweight, Autoscore and Autoset Spirit
http://resmed.com.au/portal/site/ResMedAU/
The specific details of the Australian Autoset Spirit are ...
http://resmed.com.au/portal/site/ResMed ... nPNum=null
In the US there was an early version called the Escape followed in 2005 by
two more with different names to the Australian models ...
The 2 extra units are the S8 Elite and the S8 Autoscore Vantage
http://resmed.com/portal/site/ResMedUS/ ... vgnReset=1
In general terms
AUST <> USA
S8 Lightweight = Escape (CPAP - No EPR)
S8 Autoscore=Elite (CPAP but with EPR option)
S8 AutosetSpirit=AutosetVantage (APAP (and EPR when in CPAP mode))
The Lightweight/Escape models don't appear to provide full data details.
The following lines is only present in the brochures for the last two
>>
Comprehensive set of efficacy and usage data—monitor critical trends
<<
That line is conspicuously missing from the lightweight/escape brochures.
I have an Escape but haven't tried to access the data on it. 'Wader' may have tried this on his & may be able to confirm this point.
Cheers
