Getting red marks on nose bridge
and on my cheeks to the side of my nose. I don't really want to loosen the mask because I get more leaks then. Has anyone tried this product? Does it work?

Meanwhile, can anyone recommend a cream or something for the sores on my nose and cheeks? Thanks!

Re: Getting red marks on nose bridge
If the marks on your cheeks go away after an hour, you might try putting a small piece of mole on the bridge of your nose first first. It's cheap, available at any drug store, helps with the seal, and will protect your skin.
Another option is a cloth mask liner. I make my own out of an old t-shirt. Pad-a-cheek sells liners for most masks (some trimming may be required).

Thanks Otter. What's a mole?
Re: Getting red marks on nose bridge
He meant moleskin. It's soft padding that has an adhesive back, most frequently used to cushion existing blisters on your feet to prevent them from becoming exacerbated... but it can be used for many things.

Re: Getting red marks on nose bridge
I used one of those band-aid strips with the antibiotic ointment on it for a few days when I had the blister on my nose bridge from the CPAP mask. Not because it was infected, but because the ointment is made with white petrolatum, which is very soothing and good for healing. There are generic brands that are pretty inexpensive, too =)
I also got a nose bridge gel pad, and used that for the first month. After which, I found I no longer needed it, my nose had "toughened up."

Ok thanks guys. I know what you mean by those moleskins now.
Talon - by nose bridge gel pad, you mean like this thing? https://www.cpap.com/productpage/Nasal- ... ml?src=atg

Yes I did. Putting a piece of mole on your nose would be unhygienic.Alshain wrote:He meant moleskin.

Actually, I meant this one, https://www.cpap.com/productpage/Gecko- ... ml?src=atg - slightly more expensive, but it lasted me well over a month.SleeplessInBrussels wrote:Ok thanks guys. I know what you mean by those moleskins now.

Re: Getting red marks on nose bridge
Brussels: I have found that most folks here deal with the "red marks", depending on what type of mask they use. You may want to consider using a lotion that will aid in the red mark treatment. Your community may offer different brands, so see what's best for you. I have used "Afta" shaving lotion on the marks with some sucesse. Right now I use Palmers Cocoa Butter formula lotion on my marks in the morning. During the day, I use Nutrogena post shave lotion. I used to apply the lotion just on my "marks", but now I go ahead and spread it over my entire face, after rubbing the lotion in the "marks" real good. . the marks disappear rather quickly, but I do notice the facial indentions will stay on my face until mid-morning. I am waiting on a prisoner to comment on the nice facial texture I have... then I bust him in the head... Whoops... just slipped!!!!

Re: Getting red marks on nose bridge
I tried may different full face masks, moleskin, creams and could not find anything to fix the red mark on the bridge of my nose. It got so bad that I was worried about having to stop using the mask. I even have a scar on my nose now to prove it
What I ended up trying was the RESMED Liberty which is a hybrid mask. Since I am a mouth breather when I sleep it was my only option, otherwise I would have used the nasal prongs.
With this mask I now have no marks on my face at all.
