A DUH moment
Last night (night 5 since I got my CPAP) was terrible compared with previous nights. I could feel a leak of air hitting my left eye and I was thinking ' how is this possible with a brand new mask??' I kept fiddling with the mask and the straps and getting more and more frustrated. Would fall asleep and wake up to rush to bathroom (I have OSA related nocturia) which also hasn't been happening on the last couple of nights. I thought - something is wrong - the mask is leaking and I'm back to waking up every few hours. Then around 4.30 am I remembered the adjustor on the bridge of the mask (dunno what it's called) and I clicked it back which pulled the mask up tight around my nose and voila ... no air leaks. I hope that was it. My cursing of the nurse and doctor at the sleep lab changed to cursing of myself - which continued when the alarm went off at 6.45. Zombie day aheaddddd!
Re: A DUH moment
I kept getting a strange leak one night on my ComfortGel mask. It wasn't like any leak I'd had before. I could hear it, but really couldn't feel the leak. If I pushed the mask against my face, the noise went away. It would be OK for a while, then it would happen again.
I finally figure that after cleaning the mask, I hadn't firmly snapped the cushion and flap back onto one side of the frame and it was leaking between the cushion and the frame, not between the cushion and my face.

Some days you just have to chalk things up to "S#!t Happens" and look forward to a kick-ass night of sleep the next day LOL

Re: A DUH moment
I spent one night wondering why I wasn't getting enough air..... I realized at 1:00 am that I hadn't turned the machine on.... can anyone top that?

Ahh! One of the joys of being a hosehead! You get to experience the thrills of fighting with a mask. Some days the mask wins. Some days I win. I will *never* take sleep for granted again. In fact, I would love to be able to sleep without a struggle arising at least once a week. But my sleep is so much better than prior to my ASV unit, that I guess I can not complain too much about a bad night per week.

Hehe Sheriff that has to be an 'award winning' DUH moment. Hey there's an idea - A hosehead awards night ... Biggest Blooper, Fastest Adapter, Biggest Whiner (wins a bottle of wine) ...
