Clear product from Pur Sleep for nose??

Post by HPM » Thu Aug 04, 2011 5:48 pm

I just read a reply post from codinqueen - your information said you used Clear from Pur Sleep to keep your nose open. I use the Swift Fx for her and have trouble with one side of my nose blocking up which is really nerve wracking! I looked on the Pur Sleep website and see that this is an essential oil with diffuser, etc. Do you have the same problem that I do? I am wondering if this might help What is your experience with this product? HPM

That is by far my fave Pur-Sleep aroma.

Hi HPM, Yes, I love Clear from Pur-Sleep to keep my nose open, both sides. I put a few drops on the diffuser pad, set it on the diffuser stand ( bought the aluminum one for more mileage, since I think the others in the set-up pkg are are just cardboard) and put the diffuser stand right behind the CPAP machine where the air intake vent is located. I bought the small vial first, but now buy the large, & next time I will buy 2 of the large bottles, so I have one always on stand-by. When I run out, I am forced to use Afrin severe congestion 12 hour spray in addition to my Omnaris Nasal Spray. By the way, if you go to the Omnaris website you can print up a coupon to get a prescription filled (with a Dr order) for about $11 a month, maybe more or less, depending on your precription insurance co-pay, for as long as the promotion lasts, maybe a year. I have been using it a little over a month now, and was told by the Dr and the pharmacist it generally takes about 6 -8 weeks to get benefit from the Omnaris, and I do believe it is helping me, but afraid to try to sleep now without the Clear. When you get the Clear, start with just 1 drop and titrate up when needed. I use 2 or 3 drops now every night. I have allergic rhinitis and also take Claritin by mouth(generic) every day. My nasal allergies are year-round from animal dander, pollen, dust, and certain smells like Avon or Bug spray. Can affect one nostril or both with no rhyme or reason. Sweet Dreams!!

I have tried now with my last two orders to get the sampler pack, and they are ALWAYS out!!! I have even asked them to send one when they get them back in stock, and I will pay postage, but they don't.

ACK! I guess the rest of us were lucky to get the sample pack?

Does anyone like the SPICE scent? I can say positively that I do *not* like it at all!

Thanks to all and 'specially codinqueen for sharing. I plan to try the Clear product. I have also tried Flonase with no luck. I don't have allergies, (went to allergist last year to confirm) but its the physical blowing of the air that is causing this. I wish the swift fx for her pillows came in half sizes, like shoes. I tried snipping an old set just a hair but its hard to get it even. I called cpap.com to see if the regular Swift fx pillows were different but they're not. Thanks again.HPM

Be careful with the Afrin, that can cause rebound symptoms. It shouldn't be used for more than 2 weeks.

I just put a little Vick's inside my nose at night because I always have problems with closed nasal passages. Do NOT use nasal sprays unless prescribed by your doctor. I had a problem in college from using sprays nightly and my nasal passages swelled up so that I couldn't breathe through my nose at all. Saw an ENT and he told me to throw the sprays in the garbage and never use them again. They are addictive and eventually won't even work. You can die from overuse. After reading about the Pur Sleep product, I'm considering giving it a try.

You should not use Vicks if you are using nasal pillows...Vicks is a petroleum product and will degrade your pillows much faster. If you put the vicks on a cotton ball and place the cottom ball behind your air intake you will get the same effect without degrading your pillows. You can also use any essential oil that includes eucaliptus or camphor. Or use clear from pursleep it works like a charm. My fav is the spice from pursleeep....I still haven't got the guts to try the bubblegum one...the thought of smelling it all night kinda just freaks me out
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

I just went to PurSleep website and bought Clear. The special offer sampler pack for 1 cent is not in stock.

I don't mind the spice oil, but I much prefer the Clear or lavender. The Clear is wonderful anytime, but it does seem to keep my nasal passages clearer, but I also use eucalyptus for that and it works well too.

The spice oil smells really good, but for me it's a bit too 'sweet' smelling for sleeping.

If you can get the sample pack, you'll be able to try a whole bunch of them and decide for yourself. Once I got through all the samples (each one lasted me about a week), I rated them 1-10 and put the little bottle and pad in the ziplock bags for future purchasing.

Cheers,
xena

Which "sample" are you referring to? The 1cent samples or the ultimate starter pack?

yes, those 1 cent ones you can order ALWAYS seem to be out stock, and I wish they would fix that problem. I'll bet they would get a lot more business if they would stock up again! There are plenty of new hoseheads daily that might want to buy a different scent if they just knew what it smelled like.
