Nasal-Pap Freestyle
Nasal-Pap Freestyle
I have been looking back in previous posts for info about the Nasal-Pap Freestyle mask and have not found anything. If any readers have had experience with this mask please let me know how it worked for you. I am considering this or the Breeze for my next mask.
If you do a search in this forum for "freestyle" you will get some hits.
I used the NasalAire for 3 years and liked it fine. But now that I have the Aura, I know the NasalAire was very noisy. There's a big difference.
The Freestyle is basically the same as Nasalaire - and others have said that it is very noisy.
I like the Aura because the exhaust ports are high on the nosepiece (level with the bridge of your nose or eyebrows). No covers or pillows touch it and therefore, there is no exhause noise (for me).

Thank you Linda, I just looked at the Aura and will look into it some more. The picture I just looked at looks like it would be top heavy and not want to stay in place but I am sure that is not the way it is. If the other is noisy I sure don't want it, I worry too much now about keeping my wife awake.
Glad you found the search button.
Most members here who use nasal pillows like either the Aura, the Breeze, or the Swift. The Swift isn't really good for side sleepers (some say), but I haven't tried it.
The Breeze is supposed to be the quietest, with the Aura a close 2nd.
Good Luck.

You're right, bulldog...it looks that way in pictures.bulldog wrote:I just looked at the Aura and will look into it some more. The picture I just looked at looks like it would be top heavy and not want to stay in place but I am sure that is not the way it is.
You're also right... that's not the way it is.
It's very lightweight. Not at all top heavy the way it appears in pictures. The "Headrest" (Aura) by Aeiomed is my favorite mask, by far -- with a few tweaks.
I tried the Freestyle. Didn't work well for me at all.
Here are links to a lot of mask discussions:

Bullfrog, here are a couple of things to consider:
1. Do you want your hose over the top of your head, attached to the headboard or wall?
Pros: It's totally out of your way, and you can flop around in bed all you want.
Cons: You might not have a headboard or any convenient way to rig it. You can't sit up and reach the extra blanket at the bottom of the bed. You will probably get more rainout, and ultimately want to get a heated hose.
2. Do you want the hose attached to the edge of the bed about waistlevel so you can sleep with it under the covers with you?
Pros: Less rainout, although you still might get some. Again, you ultimately will want the heated hose. You can sit up and get that cover.
Cons: Every time you turn over, you have to "carry" the hose with you or you will get leaks or disengage your mask. You can't roll over 360 degrees.

I tried an early Freestyle. It holds the top spot for MY choice of the most UNcomfortable and noisiest of anything I have tried.
