San Diego,CA DME?

Post by Dive Apnea » Mon Aug 01, 2011 3:04 pm

looking for a DME in San Diego that is reputable. Any Apnea folks in the San Diego area...

Just started dealing with a DME in town, that will not order me a Data CPAP with my E0601 authorization.

It is detailed here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=66532&p=620036#p620036
Pressure: 10

I recently dealt with the local Apria branch in San Diego (on Willow Creek Road)
I got a Remstar PR System One Auto from them. I've only had to deal with them that one time, but they seemed pleasant and competent enough.
Problem is: there seems to be no way to call the branch directly - everything must go through their 1-800 national number.

Crapria is one of the worst offenders of foisting bricks on their clients. If you can't talk to the local store that pst recommends, you may have to play a lot of games with the national call center. And even if you can talk to that particular branch, pst may have gotten an auto becuase his prescription called for it. Does your prescription call for an auto or a fixed pressure?

I would suggest you start calling down the list of DME's on your network. Be VERY specific in stating what machine you want and ask if they can get THAT machine. Be clear that you will not accept an older model (ResMed S8 or Respironics Series M) nor will you accept a different model (ResMed Escape or Respironics System 1 plus). Get the person's name and write yourself a note with the date, who you spoke to, what time it was, and what they said.
