Tubing Length?
Can I switch to 8ft or 10ft tubing for an M Series Pro? I don't see anything in the configurable settings for specifying tube length. Can I just make the switch without impacting how the machine works?
Re: Tubing Length?
I don't know anything about your machine, but mine does allow for 6' or 10'... wish it did allow for 8'. I use the 10' tubing as I snake it up and over my rather high headboard to manage it... and I tend to work my way across my queen sized bed during the night and need the length.....otherwise, my machine would be on the floor every night
Others with your machine will be by soon to let you know how to set it or if it matters.......

Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.
Re: Tubing Length?
Not a problem with longer hoses on the m series, just add it to the machine as you do the 6 foot. With a 10 foot you may have to up your pressure a smidge to compensate for the long trip to your nose. I'm not positive about that though, I woulld do a search on hose length and see what others have found. Just go to the search button above type in what you want and see what comes up.

Re: Tubing Length?
Most quality machines allow a 10 foot hose as the max. If ten foot is too short, try tying yourself to the bed. The pressure doesn't need to increase with longer hoses, they can add more noise in the software readings and interfear it a APAP hearing breathing sounds, but for the most part they don't. Jim

Re: Tubing Length?
I think the risks of longer hoses are:
1) Pressure drop.
2) Poorer pressure regulation. The pressure may vary more at the mask with a longer hose. Especially if you have changes in leak rate.
3) Pressure relief may not work as well. EPR or various forms of "flex."
4) Poorer detection of events by the machine.
5) Auto pressure may not work as well.
6) Bilevel machines may have problems.
10 feet should probably not be a big problem.

Re: Tubing Length?
I use the 6' on the one in the RV and a queen bed. At home, I have an 8' on it with a king bed. The pressure remains the same and have no problems with the pressure at the mask.
