AHI

Post by Chaso88 » Wed Feb 08, 2006 8:15 pm

My Ahi on my machine is usually in the 8-10 range on 13cm with .012l leak. My appointment is not for another month should I ask them to read my card now and maybe make adjustments if necessary so i can see the results before I go in for my appointment. My original AHI was 106/hr so I feel a little better but still really tired on some days.

Why don't you change the setting up or down a bit to see if you can get your AHI down? I think I'd be inclined to go up a bit, try that for a few days and see how you feel, plus what the AHI is. Play with that a bit and if that doesn't do it...it could possibly that you need a lower pressure to feel right. I wouldn't think that varying just a couple of pressure points here or there from your prescribed setting could do any harm. And you just might be able to find your perfect setting! But I'd give it a few days each setting just to let your body adjust to it and get a correct AHI reading (unless the result is "disasterous" or something)

I would certainly go and see what the data on the card says. A month is a long time to wait.

The delays in getting my appts is one fo the factors that caused me to buy the software and reader for my machine so I can look at it myself.

When I was in the Dr office, the tech just breezed right past the stuff, only told me vague summary info and wouldn't go back and explain any of it.

He said it was just complicated "Data" they use to see compliance and use. After getting the software, I could see that was obviously not the case, LOTS of clear, easy to understand information.

Good luck!

From my understanding of the system...techs are techs and doctors are doctors. Techs are to perform the tests. Doctors are to interpret. I believe techs are not allowed to discuss your test results with you. I agree that can be highly inconvenient, but I think those are the "rules". So don't blame the tech for "breezing right past the stuff"! It's probably just as frustrating to them that they have to do that!
