So far no-one has suggested a mask liner. Go to padacheeks.com and see what Karen has to offer....she is a patient too and has helped everyone of us out a time or two. A mask liner will help with the leaks and make the mask so much more comfortable to wear. I use strap covers made of fleece and I have 3 of Karens mask liners, an old and a new style for my Quattro and one for my Hybrid. In the meantime you can make a liner from an old well washed cotton t-shirt or cotton un dies. Just lay your mask down on the fabric, draw your mask on it plus about 3/4 of an inch all round. Take your mask off, cut it out plus a hole for your nose...voila a temporary mask liner for you.
Good luck and DON'T GIVE UP.

Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.
Re: New guy... on CPAP for a little over a month...
It's funny that you mention that.... I did that very thing last night. Cut out a piece of a t-shirt and used it as a test liner. It seemed to work okay, I got almost 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep. If it was leaking at the nose, it at least wasn't blowing into my eyes. AHI was 1.2, but leak was 12L/m.

That's my thing too, I agree with Pugsy!
I read for many hours/days, and talked to the DME.
He says hybrids are so very hard to get a good seal on for many people.
Are you sure you have to have a full mask? I've been doing this for 5-6 years and I still can't get used to a FFM.
I would try all the nasal options and alternatives first.

Maybe sleep deprivation caused you to miss it?jayk1998 wrote:The machine is an S9 Elite. I don't know how I missed that.
Be glad of one thing. You got an excellent machine.
Lots of newbies get shafted by the DME with a junk machine that won't record any useful data.

I've thought about trying a nasal mask, but I am a mouth breather... I think... though I think with the FFM I am breathing through my nose more.lee_leses wrote:

In any case, it really seems that given my DME situation, I've gotta make this mask work, at least until I am eligible for replacement.
