There are 3 PDF files that include all the necessary information.
That is for cleaning in a clinical/hospital setting. Can you imagine having a bottle brush long enough to scrub out the hose?

The Welcome Guide has these instructions for cleaning the S9:

Cleaning and maintenance
Refer to your mask and humidifier user guides for detailed instructions regarding the care of these devices.
Daily
Disconnect the air tubing and hang it in a clean, dry place until next use.
Weekly
1. Remove the air tubing from the S9 device and the mask.
2. Wash the air tubing in warm water using mild detergent.
3. Rinse thoroughly, hang, and allow to dry.
4. Before next use, reconnect the air tubing to the air outlet and mask.

Monthly
1. Wipe the exterior of the S9 with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
2. Check the air filter for holes and blockage by dirt or dust.
Replacing the air filter
Replace the air filter every six months (or more often if necessary).
1. Remove the air filter cover from the back of the S9 device.
2. Remove and discard the old air filter.
3. Insert a new ResMed air filter ensuring that it is sitting flat
in the air filter cover.
4. Replace the air filter cover.

Thanks for all of the replies and suggestions, it was most helpful.

I saw my pulmonary physician this morning at National Jewish and asked him what he thought. His comment was that using disinfectants may be a bit of overkill for most people using a cpap for sleep apnea but for those of us with other lung and cardiac issues it would be best to take the high ground and disinfect at least once a week.

Those who already have some lung disease such as copd are at a much higher risk and will usually develop other complications and end up in the hospital for 7 or 8 days like I did. Considering the risks of having a bacteria or virus infection develop in my cpap equipment it seems well worth the additional effort to properly disinfect everything on a regular basis.

I just ordered a 16 ounce bottle of Control III from cpap.com to hopefully help avoid another stay in the hospital.

I use a product used for sterilising babies bottles, it's called Milton here in Australia. I just soak all my equipment for 30 Mins. once a week, seems to work a treat no problems so far.

FEDX just delivered my 16 oz bottle of Control III and I read the instructions and warnings on the label. I am impressed and a little afraid of this seemingly very potent concentrate. The scariest is the one under “First Aid” where it addresses ”If on skin or clothing.” It recommends flushing affected area for 15 to 20 minutes and then call poison control center or doctor for recommended treatments.

Does this concentrate cause extreme skin irritation or does it absorb through the skin? I would really hate to have a kidney or liver failure just to keep from getting another bacteriological or viral infection. Sounds like this is a product that should be used with heavy-duty latex gloves like for dishwashing.

Thanks so much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can get it at our hosts' website or at Amazon.com - I don't think a hardware store will carry it, as it's a medical compound.

CPAP.com is our host

http://mtln.us/px0uLM gets you the full line at Amazon.

I've gotten the concentrate on my hands before without any issues, just wash it off like you would concentrated dish soap. I'm sure if you soaked your hands in the undiluted stuff for a while, they'd get irritated, but a bit of spillage has not caused issues for me.
