cpap power
cpap power
Is there a converter which can be used in a car to power my cpap? There are some converters at radio shack but I don't know whether these inverters can be used in the cigarette liter to power my cpap. Hope I can get some ideas. Oh, also can I use these in a plane? I want to use my cpap in the back seat for a nap while my wife drives. Thank you.
Re: cpap power

Looks like you figured out how to enter your machine into your profile.sangre wrote:archangel, please tell me how to do this. I am not too sharp when it comes to navigating this site. Thanks
Respironics makes a DC power cord that will plug into the cigarette lighter and run your machine, but they say not to use it while the engine is running.

An inverter like Randy mentions can do the job. A bad or malfunctioning inverter could possibly damage your machine. In theory, you should get a "pure sine wave" inverter. I think a fair number of people use "modified sine wave" inverters without problems.
