Put it in the trunk to avoid the greenhouse effect in the cockpit.

You think its fine in the trunk? It'll be in the high 80s outside....would imagine trunk will get quite a bit warmerNightMonkey wrote:Put it in the trunk to avoid the greenhouse effect in the cockpit.

Does anything happen to your mask etc when you wash it in warm water? If you are worried put it in a cooler.

More concerned about the electronics than the mask. Maybe I don't have to worry??
I just know some mechanical devices can't withstand high temps

Most electronic components are temperature rated to ~80'C and usually experience far hotter temperatures during the assembly of the electronic boards The fly in the ointment would be LCD screens. They can be extremely temperature sensitive. With that being said, I would not hesitate to temporarily place my Resmed S8 machine in the trunk of my car on a hot day. Just make sure that the humidifier tank is empty.

Also, electronics are only susceptible to heat while they are running. If it's not powered, it will be fine unless it's hot enough to melt it (solder, the most likely part to melt, starts melting at 190 deg F+). They sit in hot 18 wheeler trailers when they are shipped anyway.
To further this point, my company produces electronic controller for gas wells that we put in stainless steel boxes and place out in the hot sun 24/7. They only thing we have to do different is get industrial temp rated chips, not because they will break but because they just cease to function when they get cold/hot. When the temp normalizes, the non-industrial chips will start to function again.
